I hate to say it but Dez is right!! If Romo had the same identical numbers as Dak during this same stretch, Jerry would have paid Romo 55 million a year.....
Man Jerry would've gave Romo whatever he wanted and on time. These are facts. Everyone knows it. You not signing Dak because he wants one less year? Sad.............having a great offseason but that's the one black eye.

I liked dez when he was here but he’s just showing his stupidity here

He should look at his bank account when he has time(assuming he still has money) and send Romo an early Christmas gift

he owes a lot of his financial standings to number 9 because romo worked around his shortcomings as a route runner.

It’s no coincidence that dez only lasted a season and a half the moment Tony went out

keep in mind, I’m in favor of signing Dak. However, what he says about tony is just plain dumb.

Very dumb

When Romo’s contract expired in 2013, he couldnt be franchise tagged.

It was sign him to the deal he wanted, or let him play somewhere else in 2013.

If Dak had that kind of leverage, he wouldve been signed already..

Dez is just being overly emotional once again

This is just Dez.

He's got no filter and will speak his mind when he gets head up about something.

I absolutely abhor QB “W/L” records, but it’s not clear to me what Dez is referencing? Romo was 80-53 (.602) as a starting QB.
Im assuming he is referencing the Cowboys’ 8-8 record in 2012, which is idiotic.

Like QBs are paid based off of one season

Their first 64 games. Dak 40-24, Romo 41-23. Playoff appearances their first 4 seasons: Romo 3, Dak 2. Pro-bowls: Romo 3, Dak 2.

Pretty identical to me, in fact Romo was slightly better record wise. So where is that 55 million a year you were taling about?

That said, I believe that Dak will not have four straight 8-8 years following that. Thanks to changes in coaching.

(And no I am not a Romo over Dak, or Dak over Romo person. I cheer for my team, and players all to succeed. Just pointing out some history people seem to want to gloss over.)

Dez supporting Dak blows my mind... I think he’s just trying to get in the good word with him because he wants another chance to play. But it was Daks terrible throws that fast forward his decline and departure
From Dallas. I mean did they even have one good back shoulder connection?

Well there was that along with Dez horrible route running, his inability to get separation as well as often taken out of games by single coverage and his declining health ... but yup Dak was the reason Dez limited skills declined at the end while he wore out his welcome and was cut by coaching who basically didn’t like Dez

And 100 wrong...

Tony Romo's first 4 seasons as a starter (before he got paid twice):

2006: 6-4
2007: 13-3
2008: 8-5
2009: 11-5

In fact in their first 64 games. Dak 40-24, Romo 41-23. But ya he's keeping it real I guess.

He didn’t say Dak won more, just that Tony hadn’t done anything significant to justify handing over two deals without issue if they’re going to play hardball now

Nope. Dak is very conservative. He likes to only make throws to wide open receivers. Its a sound approach. However, it doesn't fit with a wide receiver who doesn't get separation and relies on athleticism to come down with 50/50 balls. Dak couldn't or wouldn't throw the back shoulder end zone fade. That is what Dez made his living on. They were a bad fit. Both good players, but a bad fit together. Some people didn't open their eyes and thought Dez was done. He wasn't. He needed a qb that would throw it up and trust him to come down with it (just like he always did). Dak isn't that.

I had a buddy that wanted Higgins in the draft. I had to explain this to him. Higgins was one of my favorite receivers in the draft, but they would have been a bad fit. Lamb is a much better fit.
Honestly, I think the bad fit was Garrett and Dak. Garrett is very conservative and drilled it into Dak's head especially that rookie year, don't take chances with the ball. That approach worked his rookie year, but he needed a coach going forward less conservative to open up Dak's game. We started to see some of that change when Kellen took over as OC and Kitna as QB coach.. Conservative HC and conservative QB is not a great combo.

Is is true that Romo was still getting pay raises despite the bumbling and fumbling.....and everybody around him was taking the heat during under-achieving seasons. Dez writing truth.

Nm. Re-read and he said without a winning record. Though it said without winning (ie playoffs)
