Yeah, he probably does but he won’t pay for it.

i think it can go up to 7 if he sees the field. Isn’t it only 3 guaranteed?

I believe he is guaranteed 3 mil and has other bonus money based on the number of snaps he may get and one sportswriter said that if he throws a certain number of TD's there is some bonus money for that. That sportswriter made it sound that there is little chance the bonus money will be due. He made it sound like Dalton would have to play a significant number of games to get any bonus money.

I wouldn't pay a dollar more than $20,000,000.00 for Dak, and that's only because I actually like Dak as a person.
im on your side about not overpaying but thats lowballing bro, dak has earned more then Bridgewater and Briseett etc so the 33/105 Jerrys sticking to for dak is the top number I can live with but I would say 30mil is what would be best.

Dak may not be top 5 money markets but hes 30-33 for sure..

Which teams specifically do you believe would pay him 30??

Several would. Hard to say which, exactly. Patriots? Colts? Broncos? If the Commanders offered WR Amari Cooper significantly more than the $20M Dallas had on the table, how much more would they have put on the table for a QB?

Teams besides Dallas that would pay Dak:

Panthers, Bears, Browns, Broncos, Lions, Colts, Jaguars, Saints, Jets, Steelers (Big Ben is aging), Buccaneers (post-Brady needs), and Commanders.

And because of the draft I left the Bengals, Chargers, and Dolphins off the list.

I think Dak would command $30 on the open market. That's basically the bottom level when you consider what quarterbacks will be making.
But … no team would give up two first-round picks to take Dak off the Cowboys' hands, and I dare say one first-round draft pick would be stretching it.
Dak is a leader, gutsy, a team player all the intangible qualities you'd want in a quarterback. But just like Tim Tebow, he just isn't a franchise quarterback. More like Alex Smith, Kirk Cousins and, shutter, Andy Dalton.

Andy Dalton is actually a pretty good QB that's placed in a bad team with bad coaching. I dare to even say if we surround him with good talent and good coaching, he might be better than what Dak is.

I would love to see what Andy can do with the talent that he has around him. Not a knock on Dak. I like him. Give this team a QB with a QB with a fast release and accuracy like Dalton, I think we might be better off than giving Dak 40 million.

I do wonder about his market vs Winston and Newton who are each looking for some big money as well. Dak has a top 5 career passer rating while each of them are 10 points less and rank similarly to Culpepper, Garcia, and Dalton. I don't think either is a bad QB, but won't see the money Dak would get on the open market. I would guess several teams would fall somewhere between 25 and 35 million for Dak. I base this on what Cousins got and has had similar production during his career.

My other comment is that the Cowboys have put together a good roster that should be at it's peak in either 2020 or 2021.

They can't afford to waste time with an unknown (to them) QB.

:clap:This gets overlooked by fans suggesting we draft a Dak replacement. Our window is now....we're looking huge decisions a number so-called elite starters second contracts after 2021.

The Colts and Broncos would both pay big money for Dak, they have talented rosters and can winnow with good QB play. The Patriots might. The Jags are probably tanking for Trevor so I doubt they would.

Oh. Good. Random sports writer from NEW YORK thinks Dak is only a good QB, not worth 30 million. - Dak haters thinks its lock solid evidence.

Hall of Fame QBs Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach - Dak is the man pay him whatever he wants, Dak haters - ehhhh what do they know!!!

That, my friends, is confirmation bias at is most hideous form.

Please name a team who would pay Dak $30 mil?

How? So Andy Dalton is good now? Better than Dak? So good that Joe Burrow was just taken #1 overall?
Ohio is where bad football teams breed. Andy isn't really that bad. Just a garbage football program.(Not anti-Dak response fyi)

Dak played well enough in his rookie year to earn the starter status . But he is not elite . He is 1-6 last year against winning teams , and has accuracy issues , which he has not been able to shake off . My point is that he is a 4th rounder who is the QB of the most valuable franchise . The offer he got (35 mil) is top 2-3 in the NFL . This team and fans have given him every chance and support . It seems he does not appreciate it . And reality will hit him soon if he doesn’t wake up . If Dalton does well in camp , Dak will be booed the next time he chokes , and the controversy cycle begins .

What does any of this nonsense have to do with my specific points? The OP said that Dak Prescott wouldn't even be in a position to get a contract if Romo was healthy in 2016. Which is not true. Dak Prescott would not be in a position to get this contract if Romo wasn't injured AND if Dak Prescott didn't take advantage of it by playing well.

Remember when Cam Newton went down last year for Carolina? Why isn't Kyle Allen in a position to get a new contract based on the fact that Newton went down? Oh, that right, because UNLIKE Dak, Allen didn't play well.

That is the point.

well, he did have 80 yards passing in a playoff game.....so that counts for something...

Let Dak Prescott win any game (much less a playoff game) throwing for under 100 yards while Zeke goes on a historical run...and this exact same group of idiotic anti-Dak haters would literally march on Arlington to get Dak replaced.

But suddenly, a guy who threw for 369 yards TOTAL in 3 NFL playoff games "took his team to the AFC Championship!"

Morons.

BB is not giving Dak $30 million
Colts had multiple QBs they could have snagged, they went cheap with Rivers
Broncos? Uh, they are all in on Lock and have said this
Commanders? Rivera loves Haskins

Jags are the only team that I can think of that MIGHT do it. And frankly, they're a stupid organization so I don't think we should be compared to them.

The Colts had a chance to give big money to other QBs this year and didn't. Why would the Broncos? I keep reading you people saying this, they also could have brought in a QB and didn't - they are all in on Lock next season

yes but haskins will struggle. very inaccurate and has a negative attitude. haskins will not get it done for them .

Well random forum predictions aside, as of right now, the Commanders would not be giving Prescott $30 million when they have a first round talent they will try to develop.

All it takes in one. Anyone really think there’s not one team that would pay Dak $30M/year?

And if Dak appeared in a Super Bowl he would have had his contract by now. Instead, a supposed ELITE QB is arguing over length. The two dopes in the front office must not be as sold on Dak as they pretend to be.

Are claiming that Dak should have won a SB by now with Garrett, the defense, and special teams he has had the first 4 years?

I think this proves without a doubt how clueless you are about team concepts and football in general.

That was true until the CA attorney general got a fed restraining order stopping any municipality or state from paying the transportation costs of any homeless person to CA. When I went in 2018 I was there for a relatives wedding and like I said every where I went I had druggies or homeless people begging for money. There were times when they would follow me for a couple of blocks continuing to beg and there would be a cop stopped at a stoplight and they wouldn't do a thing about it. People that lived there told us that if we hit them to get them from following us and begging that they will get a cop for that and we would get charged with battery. The cops would arrest us for that but wouldn't do a thing about them constantly begging.

It's weird because it's one of the moat expensive places to live in the US.
