My other comment is that the Cowboys have put together a good roster that should be at it's peak in either 2020 or 2021.

They can't afford to waste time with an unknown (to them) QB.
My reply to this is...he wasn't able to competer with this roster before with a probowl cornerback and DE on the team before they left. These were replaced by rookies some of whom are udfa's. Is this an upgrade? That remains to be seen but I don't think you replace that talent (both 1st rnd picks themselves) that easily. Does McCarthy makes so much difference that Dak can now take this team from 8-8 to the superbowl? Again, I like Dak and think he's good but not elite and in this case, I think numbers lie. Dak played some of the worst teams in the league last year with the worst defenses to post the numbers he did. I hope that he can take that next step.. after all I root for the Cowboys and not against a player. I've liked Dak since college and think he has... "something". But something is still missing that I can't put my finger on. I know this is a team sport and it isn't just Dak responsible for our losses (Our defense took a step back last year even with Quinn and BJ). I just think you refrain from paying that kind of money to someone who you aren't sure is the top of the top. He has indicators of greatness but then he struggles against teams he should blow out of the water (Jets for example) and you say "Whaaat?". Anyways... I like our little talks. I hope you and the family are safe and healthy during this crisis. God bless.

The Cowboys are willing to pay him. Does that count? The years seem to be the issue right now.

And they shouldn't budge for him, he's not good enough to alter the way you do business. They clearly agree or they would have made concessions.

Zeke had to hold out all preseason to get his money. D Law had to play on one franchise tag then effectively hold out by delaying surgery on his shoulder. Cowboys will give their best offer at the deadline July 15 because that's how they negotiate.

You're talking about two guys who are/were arguably worth it, at the time they were negotiating it could be argued that they were among the best st their respective positions. Dak isn't even in the top 10-12 at his position, you don't bend for average players.

You argued that the fact that they haven't conceded to Dak in May means they dont think he is worth it. The fact that Zeke and D Law took longer to get their money is evidence against that.

Dak was a 4th round pick and for four years he watched far lesser QB's make ten times as much as him.

.....and you didn't hear a peep from him. He has been pure class and anybody that accuses him of greed should reevaluate his basic sense of fairness.

Dak is not the bad guy here.

It really is funny. All this concern about the salary cap. Meanwhile Dak saves the cowboys about 23-25 million last season by willingly playing on his rookie deal. Didn’t hold out. Didn’t complain, he participated in all of the voluntary activities, etc.

but now he is greedy because he hasn’t signed his tag yet. Even though he still hasn’t missed any mandatory activities.

Some people are just relentlessly ridiculous about the whole situation.

LOL overhaul

It's been 20+ years since we've had a Super Bowl win. Spare me the offseason accolades.
on the one hand some keep throwing accolades at how cowboys did in the off season. on the other hand some call them dopes....

can't live on both sides of the fence at the same time..

So are you saying that because Joe Montana had Jerry Rice and a bunch of other HOFers that he wasn't that good because he needed great players around him?

This logic is mind bogglingly ridiculous.
Joe Montana had a bunch of HOFs around him bc there was no cap. And please dont use Dak and Montana in the same breath.

Wentz did not deserve 30, so you're saying Dak doesn't deserve 35?
I never said if any of them deserve/not deserve. just stating the facts that Wentz got 30, couple or three years back Ryan got 26,27 or something like that, Cousins got 33. that's the market for starting QBs. Dak asking for 35 is not way out of line and like I said in my other posts, Mahomes will get in the 40-50 range and all other numbers will look pale compared to it....its the market.....

Who said no one said any of those? I asked what person in here was a double talker like you mentioned which is not the same thing as the question you just asked.
what group....perhaps not a single person.....the dak detractors ( I was asked not to say Dak Haters)…..

Truth is that no one here knows what people will do on the open market. There are teams desperate enough to hand Dak that kind of a pay day. Just like no one expected anyone to pay ridiculous money for Kurt Cousins.

Well if it isn’t a single person the junk you’re kicking is emotional bs. If the person isn’t a proven double talker you can’t just make up a person that fits your argument smh.
