I agree the tag will not be rescinded but does anyone know if they can lower the tag or if they can allow him to seek a trade even under the exclusive tag? It would be interesting to see that unfold. I have said all along if he was allowed to test the market, he would be forced to lower his demands.

If the tag is rescinded like @leeblair mentioned these are the teams that I believe will make room to get Dak. In spite Dak will take a back loaded contract just to get even with Jerry.

1. Pittsburgh not an option
2. Raiders
3. Patriots- this would be interesting and wouldn't blame anyone for trying to sign here to compete for rings.
4. Atlanta
5. Commanders not an option

Can't see Commanders or Steelers.

Patriots have literally zero cap space. LOL at him going there

I don't think they can trade him unless he is signed

This is my understanding as well.
If they can agree for him to sign the tag w/ them having the ability to seek a trade before the July deadline.
I think both camps make out this way:
Dallas gets draft ammo next year
Dak gets his money (if traded) or plays under the tag for a year. We get another year. If he performs well, then we do this again next year.
We now have a backup that can step in for the year if need be.
or
if Dak plays under the tag
let the 2 battle for the starting job, something Romo wasn't granted after being benched for the season.
"Best" players should always be the starter !
...alright, fire away...

The only option for Dak is to compromise with our owner and get the deal done. He is not going anywhere but to play along with this the one team that makes sense to me of those 5 are the Deadskins. The others have starting QB's and he isn't backing anyone up. Can you imagine him going to the Skins?
Dak doesn't have to do anything.
He can simply sign his franchise tender and ensure he makes 31.4M this year.
That's 2m a game.

He has no pressures or worries.
He can sit back and do what his agent says.
Same way Zeke and DLaw did.
You know the two very rich guys signed long term with large money guaranteed?

As some one said on TV , if he becomes FA , no one is offereing him 30+ M / year offer, he has to realize he is not Russel Wilson ( I hope he becomes somewhat close by winning boys one SB at least:D )

Just my opinion, Mike Mac doesnt want his contract situation drama to derail his installing the offense and in case he holds out , de rail this whole year , he probably reached Jerry’s ear for a viable backup with credentials to continue the offense.

Dak/ Agent should quickly agree for a reasonable contract or sign tag ( betting on himself) and play this year on the tag.

Just another Dak thread of something that isn't going to happen. Dak will be the Cowboy QB for either the next 4 or 5 years.

The cowboys are not going to rescind Dak’s franchise tag. And get nothing for him? No chance.

not going to happen.

They save $33m, so rescinding saves a lot of cap space this season.

I bet Pittsburgh / Atl offers him 30 million plus, and Jerry got call for a possible trade. Why would he use the exclusive franchise tag if he wasn’t worried about other teams snatching him up. Makes no sense.

Gonna have a rough year if things start to get rocky during the season fan sentiment already with him wanting to be a top QB not getting it done with the immense talent cast surrounding him will alienate him and start the “we want the red rifle” chants for dalton

Possibly but would he be getting paid? I don't see that ever happening in New England. CAA is not going to support that IMO.

Yeah true. The way they operate BB would sell him on the glory that will follow and manage to get a team friendly deal. Although I agree, its a huge long shot.
