Start Dalton! Enough with this Prima Donna Dak. He is hurting our team. $34 million a year wasn't enough for him.

People losing their jobs by the MILLIONS and Prescott turns down $34 MILLION for playing football for 17 games. Stick a fork in me. I'm so done w/him.

why in the world would cowboys rescind the tag when they can trade him in the most extreme situation
He would have to agree to the trade in order to sign the tag and that means finding another team to pay him what he wants. Do you think that team exists? I don't. I think he's got an offer from the only team that would pay him in the 30's.

And consider the fact that these other teams are very aware of the team around him and the need for a run game like DAL can give him. This is not a QB to lift the talent around him, he's the ultimate game manager and they have to have the O for him to manage.

The Patriots QBs are Stidham, Hoyer, and Lewerke. Two of them have never started an NFL game and the other is Brian Hoyer.

I would add the Bears to the original list. They're done with Trubisky and Foles still hasn't shown he can do anything outside of Philadelphia.

And there were several QB's available that would represent improvements that they also chose not to sign.

i dont really care what other teams would pay dak.
i dont really care if that trading partner exists.

dak is probably a superior option, but the gap is far small than with rush.
cowboys have little pressure to bend now.
if he signs the tag, then we get him for a 1 year 31 million tag.
if he delays signing, then we have an experienced qb who can probably do pretty well without dak.
and if he comes into camp late, dalton may start until dak can perform better than dak.

on the other hand, dak has never had a big pay day, so this 31 million is a big deal to him.
i highly doubt he sits for a single game.

Say what you will about Dak, but if he was to go to the Pats he's winning superbowls.
Even with the GOAT NE barely won most of those Super Bowls.

That is like saying Dak is as good as Brady. 10,6,4,3,3 - those are the point margins- no way Dak wins those!

I'm not certain how it came to be popular opinion around here that Dak is better than Wentz, but he's just not. Wentz is carrying that team 100% on his back and Dak is just a trailer being pulled by our trucks.
he is carrying his team? how?

While the kiddies argue about Dak, Pat is now having the SAME hold up in contract extension.
He wants 4 years. KC wants like 7. KC is already offering 40M x7 so 280M totat and Pat is refusing to sign that.
Why?? BECAUSE IN 4 YEARS 40M is going to look stupidly underpaid for a QB1.

This is going to end up so bad for the Cowboys because they were too stupid to extend him earlier.

Sounds like a simple solution here. Trade Dak to KC, in exchange for Mahomboy and everybody is happy. KC gets their 40 mil QB at 7 years and Jerry gets his golden boy QB and you know, if we are talking about a Super Bowl win, Jerry is paying whatever. Problem solved.

yeah but dak isn’t mahomes. Mahomes led three comebacks in the playoffs. Dak couldn’t beat a depleted philly team week 16. I know they’re we’re circumstances surrounding it but still.

What I don’t understand. If dak plays under franchise tag and plays bad he’s gonna get less money. If he holds out he’ll get less money after a year. Or pretty much the 30 mil he’s being offered now.

Sure, soon as you can get Stephen to cough up the money it'll take.
If you want Pay you are talking 45m a year for 4 years. 2/3 of that GTD.
SJ has topped out at 33m a year and only if committed for 6 years.

To get Pat to go 6 years it will cost 50m a season.

Pat is the best in the league.
He is also FOLLOWING Dak's footsteps here with regards to taking a 4 year deal in order to re-up again as contracts rise.
Pat will get paid a lot more than Dak. A LOT. But you do not want to sign a QB after Pat resets the market.
He will make Russell's deal look like chump change.
But idiots are crying over paying Dak Jared Goff money.

JT, I have no doubt that if Jerry could land PM, he would pay it. Jerry has never walked away from a shinny player that could be an impact guy. At that point, it's not Stephen's call anymore IMO. At that point, Jerry takes the check book from inside of Stephen's desk drawer and I believe that deal gets done. I mean, it's all for not because it will never happen but I have no doubt Jerry would figure out at way to do that.

I don't see him doing that with Dak because Dak just hasn't shown he's that guy. I think Jerry wants to do that deal with Dak but he can't until he sees it. That's just my opinion though.

You know what's happened since we typed all this out? Price for QBs went up again.

That's the way it works.
I could care LESS what anyone thinks Dak's value is.
His value is at least 31.4M this year alone.

They will not rescind the tag and let him become a FA. No way. So people need to get this out of their heads / hopes.

Now what they can do, if they can. Remove the non-exclusive tag or what ever it is called. If not too late.
Let teams make offers for a trade, or get the 2 1st round picks, or a 1st and a 2nd or however it is set up.
But I truly doubt anyone gives 2 1sts for him. I do think it was a mistake to not use the tag to try to get a trade.

I want to see how Dak does with the new staff and scheme. But since he is refusing to negotiate If it is him doing all the refusing. Then time to move on. Live with Dalton for a year, and see what happens. Heck maybe if we get a 1st for Dak, we can package a deal to get Lawrence next year. Unless we completely suck, and get a top 10 pick.
To get TL you will have to have the #1 pick

Didn't Bayless allege that Aikman was gay during his quarterbacking days? Back then that garnered some notoriety.
yup. troy wanted to punch skip in the face but his attorneys couldn't guarantee the lawsuit would be for 1m or less.
