Im looking at this objectively. Dalton is a very good QB. He has the talent. He has the arm.

What he HASNT had is:

1. A good team and
2. Consistently good decision making.

Playing from behind doesn’t help #2. He could have success with Dallas he hasn’t had elsewhere.

Drew Brees was a castoff at one point too. So was Favre.

I think he is a better QB than you do. That’s fine.

If you don’t think he believes he has a shot in Dallas you are mistaken.

The opportunity is not likely to arise from a straight up competition. It would more likely arise due to an injury/holdout from Dak.

This team is primed for a run. Dalton is playing the odds. It’s a smart play. Quinn came here and parlayed that into a big contract. Dalton is hoping for the same thing.
