No team in NFL history has ever won a Super Bowl while paying their QB 13% or more of the salary cap.
Dak wants up to 20% of the cap.
It would be highly unlikely for Dallas to be the exception to this rule. Please move on, and start building a deep contender. Thank You.

Yeah this has been talked about in countless threads. So you’re not posting anything new. Hence it won’t end the debate.

You also don’t know the final numbers of what Daks. Cap hit will be in each season of the deal. So......,

13%? So what teams won with the QB getting 12% & how many years into the contract did it take to drop to 12%?

edit: This is a straight up curiosity question. After reading it I think it came off sounding a bit snarky.

Considering most of out weapons on offense are under contract, I think we have a good chance to compete. As for defense people complained about them last season and much of this past draft was directed towards defense.

Are you sure?

Brady's cap hit in 2018 was 22 million. In order for that to be less than 13% the salary cap would have to have been 169 million.

At least that was his reported salary for that year, I cannot say this is conclusive but Brady earned over 220 million as a Patriot, difficult to believe that the cap hit was on the low end for all six of those Super Bowls.

normally i'd say his cap % would go way down by year 3 but what if the cap doesn't raise next year due to less overall revenue? How will all this pandemic stuff affect the next tv deal and will Dak be a FA at that time?

Sorry , I don't read every thread on here. Missing a thread makes all future points on a topic invalid? Duly noted.

Dak's deal will most certainly count for more than 13%. After this off season, do you take Dak to be the type of person to restructure his deal annually to help the cap?

Dak's cap hit wouldn't be 20%, the first year would probably be around $23M and the CAP is $198M, so that would be 11%. Even if you use the average which could come in around $35M(youd be stupid to use the average since the CAP rises every year) that would be 17% not some BS 20% figure.

The Seahawks, Packers, 49ers, Bucs, and Saints just shouldn't even try to compete for the ship then right?

I don't know what the profit breakdown is for the Cowboys between their stadium attendance & TV revenue. I think the TV ratings shouldn't be hurt by the pandemic, at least not as much as the stadium attendance.

Peyton Manning won a SB in Denver and was 14% of their cap. I would also suggest guys like Rodgers, Brees and other high paid QB also get their deal restructured so that it frees up money on the cap. This stats of no team winning with the QB getting a certain % has some holes in it.

Lol there’s threads all over the board about it.

And I am not telling you, you can’t talk about it. I’m telling you that your stat isn’t going to end the debates. Because it’s been debated for months already. That’s the point.

And yes. Dak and any other player have zero reason to not restructure. When they restructure, they get an immediate bonus of cash in their pocket, rather than have to wait for game checks. There is zero reason for a player to not restructure.

You don’t know what Dak wants much less what Dak is going to count against the cap so this is just all bull****.
