The years run together, but at least in recent memory, it has seemed that the off-seasons where I came away least enthusiastic about the team's likelihood of success have been the same years when the team actually had some semblance of success.

And. The converse is also true.

I'm very enthusiastic about this team right now.

And at the same time, a chill goes down my back as I admit that.

Am I alone in all of this?

It’s an even year. Dallas does good in even years. You have nothing to worry about. 2021 will be a different story...

Coach fatigue. I feel the same way but also relieved that we have a real coach so ..... The last time I felt good about our coaching staff going into a season was Tuna's second year.

Too much optimism on this board usually leads to disappointments. Good offseason's seldom translate into good seasons. The Cowboys seem to have their best success when expectations are low. Could be the team buys into the hype but I believe the biggest problem has been the coaching. We’ll see if the negative trends will change under McCarthy.

Nope. Its also optimism about multiple things. Its not just one big FA signing, its bringing in McCarthy, handling FA well and then striking gold in the draft.

And all of that was for a very young team where the status quo would favor them improving with natural development anyway.

Nope. You’re not alone in that feeling.

The good news is, there is no trace of the previous leadership in most of the things I’m excited for.

even if this isn’t the year for us, it feels fresh.

The rinse and repeat Garrett years are over. We will make the playoffs three years in a row starting this year. I Men's Warehouse guarentee it.

Not giving into a players exorbitant demand is the most telling sign that, business as usual, is over. Lets hope that the days of bidding against ourselves is over.

We have been ridiculed by the media and other teams fans, and for good reason. But with the great draft and off season, I'm optimistic as a mug.

For some of these same reasons you mention I felt the same about last year's roster. I will represent the OP's avatar and add that I'm not a huge believer in the current coach's previous history based off having Favre then Rodgers.

I'm a wait and see type who is cautiously pessimistic. To each his own, lol.

We did well this off season but my main gripe is that a lot of teams did just as good of a job. We will see how the coaching helps or if over paid guys decide to actually perform with these coaches, time will tell.

Wait and see mode as usual. O line may have two new starters and defense has a lot of questions to answer.

Not at all.

My enthusiasm is sky high as well and I get this 'Dream Team' nightmare chill that makes me feel like it's too good to be true and will ultimately fall apart.

I'm just trying to suppress the bad vibes.
