Skip says that Prescott is asking for more money than even Mahomes is expected to ask for.

If that's true it's the single most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in sports. Talk about delusional.

I believe Bayless that Dak is asking for an out of bound deal.

Jerry always signs his players and usually does overpay that is all true. Why is the Dak deal not done? I think its because Dak has gone way beyond what he should be asking. And even Jerry knows Dak is not worth that much.

I like Dak and I hope they get him resigned but I think he needs to comeback down to earth

That's not this situation.

Somebody has to tell me why Dalton would turn down millions of dollars to back up a bum. He can do his one year in limbo anywhere. Why here for peanuts? He's literally making kicker money this year.

Jerry promised him, probably on the souls of his grandchildren, that Dak Prescott will never take another snap in their uniform. That they've moved on from what they now admit was a huge mistake.

The evidence points me to this conclusion.

So who is Dalton’s backup QB? Why cut Rush if Dak “is never taking another snap” for the Cowboys? We’ve already decided that DiNucci or Thorson is ready to be backup QB without them ever having taken a snap in the NFL or in a Cowboys training camp? Even for you @Risen Star, this is preposterous trolling. But I get it, you’re locked in your house and really bored.
P.S. Stephen committed once again today to signing Dak long term. Why do that if the decision to let him go has already been made?

Dalton started out his career much like Dak has, very comparable stats. The second half of his career has not gone so well for him. :(

As for Dak, he is worth whatever someone is willing to offer him. We have seen reports he has turned down offers in excess of $30M and the franchise tag that Jerry slapped on Dak is worth $31M. So the answer to your question is yes, he is worth it. :thumbup:

So for whatever reason, you have lost faith in Dak. You express this by saying you would not mind if his tag was rescinded. Cut bait with Dak in favor of turning the keys over to a QB that has been terrible of late. Does that sound like the prudent thing to do? I would suggest we at least find out what kind of QB Dalton is today before putting all our eggs in his basket. I wouldn't give up on Dak just yet. We've waited this long, July 15 is not that much farther away. I'm willing to give him that much time to make a decision. If he wants to hold out beyond then, then we can reconsider pulling that tag. :cool:

He talks about using this season as an opportunity to set himself up for the rest of his career (he thinks he can play 5-6 more years).

He had opportunities at other teams yet he chose Dallas to accomplish this...why? Why would he choose Dallas to accomplish that when the QB1 hasn't missed a game in 4 years? Hmm...

I could be wrong, but I think the front office is now prepared to play hardball with Dak.

Im telling you, Jerry most likely told him he would have a great shot at starting some games this season as the anticipate Dak holding out.

Explain to me why he would come here if he wants to become a starter next season? Especially when this QB has shown to be very durable...
