If released in theory. would Dak start elsewhere?

Your point is fair but... kinda the same thing? If Aaron Rodgers got released today, somebody would change things up, no?
I guess the concept is if that if the QB musical chairs stopped on Dalton, Winston and Newton so they are now backups, then is Dak also a backup by default? With the recognition that probably all 4 would not be ranked less than 32nd in the league.

Good example.
Let me try to explain my point.

Lets suppose this

Aaron Roders gets releases today... i am sure he WOULD get a starting job unlike Dak

With all due respect yes I AM serious!
I em entitled to my opinion and I alwasy respect others´opinions.

I have come to think ME PERSONALLY that Dak IS AVERAGE

100% you are entitled to your opinion!!! guess i am just a little shocked you do not think he couldn't start somewhere with the record and stats he has put up to start his career, taking into consideration where he was drafted. When you look around the league and what other teams have it is a no brainer that he would start for several teams. They may not give him the contract he is asking but IMO he would no doubt start somewhere actually several places. I really believe he is way to unappreciated by our fans... and that to me is sort of sad looking at his whole story and career start . But thats me !

The reason i THINK DAK has had success is because of the Talen around him.
I am starting to think that Romo would have done better if he had not been benched. I also think this team would perform better with a more capable QB
all the moves this season have given me hope the talent on the team isn't going to go completely to waste when it's all said and done.

I realize we all go back and forth on Dak, but I do think some context is warranted here.

Dak was listed as among the top free agents this offseason, including the No. 1 potential free agent on either ESPN or NFL.com.

Would there be a market if we released him tomorrow? Of course there would.

He would land in a team YES.. would be be consideres the absoture starter? IMO no.

He probably would, but even for him there would be only a small amount of people who would be willing to disrupt the apple cart at this point. It’s kind of the reality of today.

No. Rodgers would be an anomaly.

You don't take anomalies and then apply them to everybody else. Dak free now vs Dak free in February isn't even the same universe of interest and talk

Good example.
Not really. Rodgers is an anomly.

Not only that the bad example goes both ways. There might only be 2 teams that are even able to realistically sign him but if he was free in February he might have 10

That kinda proves the point that being free now isn't the same as being free in February. Perspective and situation changes EVERYTHING

Makes sense. Time will tell, but if DAK ends up on our team, and gets a deal done. I dont forsee him in our team for the long run, he will be replaced.

Hey @Darkhound

Let me ask you a question. How does a back-up QB outplay the majority of staring QBs?

by the Talent around him.
I did not say he SUCKED or that he was garbage. I SAID he is average.
And his play elevates by the good team around him.

Rodgers isn’t an “anomaly”, he’s just above the threshold where a team would make that move. There are certainly others. Dak, Newton, etc. are below that threshold.

Fans need to pick a lane. Either wins mean something or they don't. You can't say, on the one hand, he's had X amount of wins in his four years but then turn around and say that an 8-8 season doesn't matter because he threw for 5K, or what have you. I know what I think but how do you even discuss stuff if you can't even settle on something like this?

Ill cut to the chase.... I PERSONALLY THINK that in 3 or 4 years (maybe even less) Dak will be just seen as a VERY GOOD BACKUP. HE IS NOT THE QB a team as the Cowboys need or deserve

Rodgers isn’t an “anomaly”
He's the 3rd or 4th best QB of the entire 2000s and literally the only remaining one that could be signed long term

Yeah sorrys that's called an anomaly. Not only that it doesn't disprove anything since he would have 5x more teams fighting over him in February than now (that was the original point)

It's not superstar or backup, there's a middle

And if you would like to know where i believe here you go:

NE Patriots --- Belichek has talked about Dak before and i believe he would move right in if available
Chicago Bears - Trubisky on the way out no doubt in my mind
Jacksonville - YUP
Dolphins - i would say dak would start even though they drafted Tua - just to give tua sometime
Browns - he is better then current QB
Steelers - Ben is just about gone i truly believe he could take that spot and steelers would make that move if given the chance at this time
Commanders - Dont need to say anything more there
Raiders - Gruden
Titans - Good fit there
Panthers -
Lions - Very Possible they would replace stafford if given the chance to get younger
Chargers -

I would say these right off the top of my head !

O my will you people stop this insane stupidity.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

These Dak threads are the exact definition of insanity. Smdh
