Dak overplayed his contract for sure. and like I said its only hypocrisy if the same people critiquing Dakota fail to hold the same standard for Dalton. I for one will be just as critical of him as I was of the Messiah.

If Dalton meets or exceeds Raynes output and performance, will you acknowledge it?
My expectations of Dalton will be through the roof. Dak got paid $4 million for 4 years and played at a high level. Dalton needs to be considerably better than Dak has been and if Dak gets $35-$40 million, he needs to be better than he has been. But I haven't been whining about a QB making peanuts while outperforming his contract for 4 years.

and thats your God given right. Set any expectation you want.

I will judge his performance regardless of salary. If he hurting this offense, and failing to score more that 10 points in multiple games with this Talented supporting cast.....this fan base will hammer him like chopped meat because the position needs an upgrade

exactly. its a weird year, late in the FA season. draft is done. so which team wants to sign a 31 year old QB to start for them, specially if they would have a chance to get Lawrence in next year's draft....so he plays back up for a year and assess the market, which is really lite in quality FA QBs. plus he can hedge his bets that if Dak doesn't sign, would the cowboys franchise him for another year. so maybe they keep him....
Boom..

I'm not giving up on Dak. I'm just looking at this as if it were a computer sim. Not considering feelings. Is the difference between the two quarterbacks worth the cost? Neither is elite. I don't think Dalton changed as a QB, I think the circumstances around him changed. Switch out Dalton for Dak last season, am I to believe Dak still throws for all those yards? Not a chance. I've seen circumstances change a lot of QB careers. They didn't all of a sudden get better. Foles the most recent in Philly, And Jim Plunket way back in the early 80s. He couldn't even get a starting job and still won two super bowls as a backup.

I'm not giving up on Dak. I don't think Dalton is the better QB right now. I'm just not sure the difference is worth the cost. Do I want a nice bacon cheeseburger for 10 bucks? Or a steak for 120 bucks?
10 bucks is too much for a nice cheeseburger.

No one has any idea what would happen if Dak and Dalton switched places because it is impossible to do. You are just imposing your own opinion on that situation. It's not a convincing argument.

Feelings are not the only thing you're not considering. You've thrown logic out the window as well. Dalton is only here for one year close to home with his family just until this pandemic clears. He has no designs on taking Daks's job away from him. He is an honorable guy that can be a great sounding board for Dak like what Mark Sanchez was during Dak's rookie season. Cooper Rush could not do that because he doesn't have the experience to know what to look for. In the unlikely event, Dak did get injured, Dalton could possibly manage the game but he's not going to be lighting up the field like many here think he could. He's a just above average QB these days.

Bayless is saying basically what I’ve been saying ever since the Cowboys signed Dalton. However I don’t believe New England was interested in Dalton. No way would he have passed up working with Belichick and having a great opportunity to start for NE.

I agree with everything except for the bold. No different than me saying Mahomes does not win a SB with Cincinnati last year. That's a very convincing opinion. QBs do not play in a vacuum unaffected by their surroundings. Even though that is just opinion as well. Just take a poll of Cowboys fans to see whether or not they think Dak would throw for 5000 yards on the 2019 Bengals. If it's over 50% no, then it's a convincing argument. And we're talking Cowboys fans. It would probably be over 90% with non Cowboys fans.

I live in New Jersey. Some fast food cheeseburgers can be 6 bucks. If you get a nice bacon cheeseburger in a restaurant setting, it's going to be more than 10 bucks. And most of them aren't even nice.

Polls are just opinions as well and as we all learned in Nov 2016, very unreliable. This forum would not be a fair place for that poll as Dak's popularity is diminishing more every day.

Ouch, New Jersey... I'll bite my tongue to prevent further commentary.

Honestly , i don't see the upside of paying 32+ million for Dak over Dalton . Dak has well documented shortcomings and inaccuracy issues. went 1-6 against winning teams last year . After putting the team and the fans into this gauntlet of negotiations for more than a year , the fans and management are fed up with him . If he plays , his every move or mistake or loss will be magnified . I recall seeing how zeke got booed last season even when the team was winning . I think the scrutiny will be immense.

if dak does not have a reversal of attitude and accepts the more than fair cowboys offer, i think jerry should rescind the tag and roll with dalton .

3 million is kicker money. We're talking about a starting QB here. He's not taking that deal unless Jerry looked him in the eye and told him he was done with Prescott.

Dalton has a year to convince the Cowboys they don't need to draft one in April.
Jerry Oil Rigged him,, good old Jerry.

Now convince yourself that we're sucking wind on offense and the crowd is mumbling and some screaming ANDY ANDY ANDY and Big Mike and Jerry will keep Dak in the game.
Convince yourself with a vengeance as reality is coming for Dak and his days are numbered!!

P.S. He's been pampered enough and we have suffered enough!!

Skippy is as bad of Cowboys troll as Stephen A. And why he was basically laughed out of Dallas. He comes off as a homer but it’s all click bait to promote himself.

If you actually take the time to watch the video the man has a point. It IS odd he'd sign here for 3 million.

It's happening, bros.

If he had the opportunity to start elsewhere and make dramatically more mo ey, why would he sign in Dallas for dramatically less.
