Are you asking me or telling me? Yes they can start him if Dak gets hurt or they have to.

........and start him if Dakota doesnt sign the tender or a contract.

which was once unthinkable is rapidly heading to reality......open eyes can see this

So you are saying the Cowboys have chosen Andy Dalton to be their quarterback over Dak Prescott? IF that's what you're saying then yeah I don't see that. Now could Dak get hurt and they start Dalton and he potentially hold on to the position? Wouldn't shock me. I didn't think Dak would take Romo's job so anythings possible. I think Mike McCarthy would rather have Dak's skillset over Dalton's IMO.

Currently they have put Dalton to in place be the starting Qb. Dak's not even on the depth chart at this point.

Cant count on someone when they arent on the payroll. They were smart nor to be held hostage and to have feasible options

He's not on the payroll? That franchise tag that's costing us 32 million says otherwise.

He hasn't signed it.

"Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is still expected to sign his franchise tender, with sources saying that the Andy Dalton deal is not related to Prescott still being unsigned. The franchise tender would pay Prescott roughly $31 million this season, but the two-time Pro Bowler hasn't signed yet because he wants a long-term deal. While the team said they signed Dalton as insurance and to add another veteran voice in the QB room, the team can pull the franchise offer from Prescott until he signs, though that scenario is unlikely."

the franchise tag that hes not signing?.......like I said, hes a non factor till he signs. The team's not waiting on him and has a contingency plan one way or the other. Clearly MM's not impressed with Rayne regardless of whatever comments he's put out there

Dakota gambled and is presently losing for the time being. He may eventually choose to sign at Jerrys price, so hes not buried yet.

Is his franchise tag not counting against our cap right now?

How do you even come up with these assumptions? A guy can tell you its raining outside and you’d argue it’s pee.

1. I wouldn’t want Dalton long term.. Draft a guy.

2. Use Dak’s money on the defense next year. I’d be shocked if we are contending this year unless something special happens on defense.

sure, just "Draft a guy." Draft a guy like the Dolphins, Bucs, Raiders, and on and on and on have been drafting guys? It aint so easy unless you have the top 2-4 picks. After that you draft a guy and pray like hell he works out. Id gladly take Dalton if Dak keeps thinking he is worth 40 million.

Im not scared to draft QBs. This forum is terrified of it.

Im scared of being mediocre and paying a slightly above average QB money is a good recipe to remain mediocre.

I agree... we definitely shouldve drafted Patrick Mahomes type qb in this last draft and stop paying mediocre QBs. I dont know why the Jones dont just get us a qb like Mahomes. Its not hard to see we need one........smh

I would draft a qb every 2-3 years, but reality is he isnt likely to get much playing time and you never really know what you have unless the starter get injured.
