DAL to get 4 comp picks

Trading late round futures can be really smart business....especially given that we often have comp picks to back fill.

For example, Moving up ahead of at least 4 teams that may've taken Tyler Biadsz to get who could be our future long term starting term center, and only using a 2021 5th to do it, was a great move.

For this reason.. I think Dallas will end up trading another Day 3 draft pick before the start of the season for added depth or even a starter. Like our Boys did last year when they traded a 6th for Robert Quinn. That was a genius move. Not only was Quinn productive, Dallas netted a higher draft Comp pick a year later. That’s a great FO move. Giving credit when credit is due .

Having 11 picks allows you to be more aggressive in either moving up for a guy, or trading out and getting future picks. I'd prefer the flexibility that a setup like that allows you. Much easier to adapt.
No issues there from me as long as you do use the picks to magnify the results into say 9 players.
End of day you are cutting guys that go free to other teams.
I'd rather have better players and fewer guys I cut.

Agreed. It's another way of using the asset. They used one for next year's draft in getting a veteran like Michael Bennett and also used one for next year in getting their possible future center in Tyler Biadasz. Having an 11 pick kitty allows you to be more aggressive in targeting a falling player in the draft. I'd rather have that kind of flexibility rather than be stuck with the existing slots.

It's too early to tell where next years draft strengths will lie.
But, with at least the added 3rd and 4th round pics, I would hazard a guess we will/ should finally get a safety or 2. A high pic on a TE may also be in order and depending how Smith plays this year, it may be time to look at a LT as well.
Some position will crop up this year as a need/ BPA - still thinking DE fits that mold. But with the extra high pics, we may be able to round out the positions that still look a little suspect ....

Ending up with a 1 and 2 - 2nd would pretty close to get the defense fully up to speed.

Dallas is the only team projected to receive 4 picks.

DAL and NE easily have the best hauls.
NE gets one R3 and two R4.
If I'm not mistaken the Quinn pick can turn into a 3rd rounder as well which could be back to back comp picks at the end of round 3. That's great because round 3 ends day 2 of the draft and some team might want to trade back into the 3rd...... depending on player available

Early looks like a top heavy run on QB, WR and OTs. Skill positions look good ... but looks very loaded on the OL

Hopefully the following year Dalton and Aldon Smith will sigh big money contracts else where and we keep getting nice comp picks.

Personally I would like to see them package those rd 3 picks and move back into the 2nd round and get 2 2nd round picks.

We will have just as many needs next year so it’s huge
They also make it easier to move up a get that guy you really want
Exactly. Package two fourth jump into the third or even 2 3rds to jump back into second. A lot of options
