The problem is those of us that offer objective valid criticism are labeled haters .

Those are few and far between. It sucks because the trollish comments are coming mostly from the anti-Dak fans. Comments like he should be a backup or he only throws short passes. The best one is he is only.good because he has good players around him which is hilarious because every HOF QB that I know of had stud WRs too. Those statements aren't even close to being true and any sane objective person would wonder what they were smoking.

So if you're going to take that stance (which is fine by the way) provide some legitimate context and backup your opinions with good information to support it.

Dak was 2 yards short of breaking the Cowboy all-time record for passing yards in a season.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
See, this is the level of logic you bring to a discussion. It's so poor, all anyone has to do is say two words to show how ridiculous it is.

Jameis Winston.

Come on who did Joe Montana have at WR? Joe won those SB by himself. Bradshaw was a 1 man wrecking crew it is not like he had great weapons. lol

The difference is Winston also threw 30 INT's and had a terrible passer rating
Oh, there absolutely is a difference. I won't suggest otherwise.

Brainiac (as many others have done) just focused on yards, however. The argument that he made was that just the yardage argument negated the OP's position. It's poor logic.

If we released romo after 4 years we would have had to pay somebody to take him and he couldn't even get a start as place holder..

As long as iwe're going to continue this nonsense about Dak I figured we may as well include everybody else too

The point that a lot of people misses is that any decent QB should be playing at Dak’s level or better with the talent that this offense has. There are several QBs that would be great in Dallas. Wentz would be one of them.
well, wentz would be watching from the sideline half the time, since he would tweak something just making a throw....so half the money would be paid for him to watch from the sideline...are you ok with that?

Joe Montana was awful too. just see his performance in KC after he didn't have HOF talent around him. Elway wasn't that good until he had some talent around him, anyone could have won in Denver with that talent. Aikman was just plain awful, we saw how he played in his first year....without HOFers, around and that OL, he sucked.

Fair enough. There clearly are counters to the OP's position, but looking solely at Dak's yardage total last year doesn't do that.

Ya and Peyton and Elway had wimpy teammates too. Rod Smith? Pfft. Marvin Harrison? Overrated! Vance Johnson? Nattiel was better!

Edgerrin, Sharpe, Wayne, Terrell, Clark, Jackson, the whole lot of them were carried by real QBs!

Don’t dislike the “kid” one bit. Mediocrity should never elicit such a thing like that in anyone

He’s more of a “meh” kind of performer

The reason i THINK DAK has had success is because of the Talen around him.
I am starting to think that Romo would have done better if he had not been benched. I also think this team would perform better with a more capable QB
If getting Andy Dalton, the definition of average among QBS (Dalton Scale), as a backup QB ignites a QB controversy then Dak has a problem.

In an absolutely impossible scenario, but I CAN DREAM can I? If Dak gets released will be be the absolute starter in any other team?

What are your thoughts?
Sadly, I think that Dak is a very good BACKUP.
Dak could start with maybe 8 teams. But none is stupid enough to pay him top dollar.

Dak did it while ranking 4th in QBR...

I think he'd start on a lot of teams if they wanted to pay that much money. That's what top 12 qbs cost now a days.

We have debated this before (and will again) but yes Dak would start on other teams, not all of them and not as many as his fans would like to think.

The questions is not whether Dak is good enough to start (he is) or whether he is a decent QB (he is).. the question is whether he is worth becoming the HIGHEST PAID QB ever.. and that question is stupidly easy to answer for anyone with two brain cells.. not in a million years.

Dak on a rookie wage was exceptional value.. dak on an 'average' QB deal would be OK value.. Dak on premium dollars is a waste of money and will set us back years. The dude is flat out not worth top dollar. There is no argument that a sane person can make that makes him worth top dollar. We have seen that without elite talent EVERYWHERE around him.. he sucked. He has a high completion rate because we had safe schemes and a lot of easy throws but his accuracy is actually poor with most analysts easily demonstrating that he rarely hits a receiver 'in stride' but rather behind and low. He is not a natural pocket passer and we know that 'mobile' QB's do not last as long in this league (his rushing yards have declined every year and will continue to do so. He takes more 'avoidable' sacks than any of the other top 10 QBs in the league.

So it is not just a question of skill (he does have some) but of value. Right now Dalton will easily give you the same output as Dak and at a fraction of the cost. Dak either needs to revise his demands or learn the hard way that this league is harsh when you are not lining up behind an all-pro OLine, with ProBowl WRs and a HOF HB beside you.
