Just glancing at Spotrac I guess they have the cap space if they want to do it. And they can restructure some rather large contracts if they want. Doesn't look like money would be a roadblock.

Surprised to see them dudes got like $22M. I'll give it to them they'd be hard to run against, but they gonna get spanked thru the air. Also, DAL will be able to beat them with RBs out the backfield and on some runs due to that weak arse LB group they got. No worries.

I think Aldon Smith will turn out to be a better signing. Obviously, there's no way I can prove it since Smith's been out of the league for a few years, but I just feel like the player has figured out his direction and is more focused on football now than he's ever been ... and he was a tremendous player before he found that focus.

Worth a 1 year prove it deal, when healthy he's a talented player. But a healthy Clowney is like spotting a unicorn. I'm still waiting to see one.

For 2021 the Eagles are (-50,122,046) - in the red. Adding Clowney would increase it more. They would have to restructure MANY contracts or cut players for 2021 season.

LOL at the Eagles.
So they drafted for 2-3 years down the line but traded for Slay and and offering large cap space to Clowney.

Can anyone explain what they are doing in the Philly front office?

If I were to get a DE I'd take Everson Griffin but only team friendly deals from this point

How are the Eagles always in for the biggest FA's? How have they not had cap issues yet?
They are just kicking all contracts forward.
Rolling all cap hits out as far as possible which is OK until you end up getting nothing of note for Nick Foles or you carry someone like Alshon Jeffrey on the roster an extra year or two because you can't afford to cut him.
