Thank you. Imagine overpaying every position and the the most important one comes up and you want to penny pinch? Or you want a 5 year deal instead of 4?

1 can argue that Zeke can't do nothing because teams are not afraid of Dak, so they load the box.

They can also argue that Cooper is elite, and if Dak played a little better, they could be unstoppable.

So yeah they got paid, in spite of playing next to someone with lesser talent. They know Dak can't carry a team. They know this. He needs players or he's booty cheeks.

The only Actions as you state is that the FO is unwilling to give him anything further than the Tag (1 season) at this point as its pretty evident there not SOLD on Dak as the future Franchise QB of the Cowboys!:omg:

P.S. And depending on what happens by July 15th don't be surprised if his tag is rescinded for the reasons you or I am not aware of.
In other words there leasing not buying....
OK, If you're right... I'll ask the same questions I did in another post... If the Cowboys don't think Dak is a franchise QB, then 1) Why did they use the exclusive franchise tag (valued at roughly $33 mil and making it so no other team could negotiate with him) instead of the non-exclusive franchise tag (valued at roughly $28 mil which would have allowed other teams to negotiate with him)? 2) Why haven't they rescinded the tag and just said Dalton is the new starting QB on a deal worth a maximum of $7 mil with only $3 mil guaranteed?

Good job! You managed to avoid the question while implying the Cowboys could still rescind the tag. I guess you have to stay true to your Modus Operandi.

For every one step this franchise takes....it follows with 2 backwards. Pay the man and get this over with.

You pay him and I'll take a nice FA DE and Dalton.
P.S. Thank you for your generosity and for saving us from Cap hell.

Come on Dak prevent defense garbage time Bortles Tebow Prescott is worth $35-$40 million a season. It's the intangibles - just look at how he played in week 16 last season versus the Eagles' third string in the only game that really mattered. Soak in his leadership skills - he commanded the huddle. Pay the man!

then hold ground.

hell i'd lower my offer and i honestly believe we'd be fine with dalton driving the bus. he's not a stellar elite qb but he's solid and can get it done. on this team that's all we need.

would it be possible for dak to work out a contract with a team that wants him and sign him to that and trade him or does that just put the bonus of doing that back on us? i'd say if that's the case, let him work out a contract and we work out trade details, sign him to the tender so it's all legal (if needed) then trade his rights to said team for said payment and get the franchise $ off the books.

would that work?

It only hurts your chances when that QB isn’t capable of carrying the weight of the offensive load and doesn’t elevate others’ play.

Unfortunately for us, Dak can’t do either. So if we pay him what he’s likely wanting, it’ll be pretty tough to keep enough talent around to make up for all of Dak’s deficiencies

Exactly. From a macro perspective, this is what both opposing DCs AND GMs know of the player. Now if the Cowboys FO can come to terms with this reality they may finally be on to something instead of caving in to "supposed" market value. A market value that tbe players talent level does not match.

Your hatred and ill comments to be directed to the man Stephen Jones who simply feels that paying Dak big bucks isn't a championship plan.

P.S. Funny how this didn't apply for Zeke and D-Law and esp Coop????
Yep, at least Zeke's talent level actually matches supposed "market value"

Im not the biggest DLaw fan but at least that's one for two. Batting .500 to me at this point...

Dak's actual market value should match a much lower number than what both he and his agent believe it is.

Truth and reality both hurt.

interesting because statistically it is true (but tom brady and his discount/cap circumvention does screw up the numbers!). they are still going to pay dak but i hope it shows stephen is less emotionally invested in players and coaches then jerry.

I'll go one further both Zeke and Coop we're over-paid due to our ineptness at QB.
Think about it where would Dak be along with our offense without ZEKE and Coop?
NOWHERE!!!!

P.S. Those 6 games without Zeke scared Jerry into paying him a ton of cash...:(

This myth has already been debunked. Zeke doesn’t face a stacked box. He was 20th in the league last season in facing a stacked box.

How much value do you believe Dak has if Dalton just signed for 3 million and according to you we’d be just fine with him?
