One of the best points is he should’ve really been resigned last year if they are going to resign him. That means that he would’ve gotten 30 mill last year so you saved on that last season and now can calculate it into the next 4-5 years so in Regards to him being paid the largest contract in history it’s really not.

Not sure that’s a great point. He was under contract for last year.

This is exactly why he should have been signed last year if they were going to sign him. It's not only a good point, but the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Had they signed him before the 2019 season they could have dumped a boatload of his signing bonus on that last year of his contract. That year is no longer there to spread out the cap hit. That's the primary reason teams do extensions before they play their last year. Russel Wilson even restructured the last year of his previous contract for this very reason.

If he plays on the tag this year, it will probably be his last as a cowboy.

These arguments just get more idiotic and unsettling. It’s pretty clear many of these Dak fans are just that, Dak fans...not Cowboys fans.

The Cowboys are pretty much screwed no matter what they do at this point. The guy all the way to the right made a good point. If it's about the years then why did Stephen talk about the % of cap? That means it has to be about the money, not the years.

It only gets worse from there. If Watson and Mahomes reset the market and Dak wants to follow suit because Dallas didn't sign him yet, Dallas has to let him walk. No way they can do that. Not under a new contract.

Meaning Dak should have signed the contract? Or are you saying Dak was not offered a contract worth signing?

They’re not screwed. They just need to start making plans to replace Dak, because the chances of him being here in 2022 are not looking great.

This is so tiring. Guys, you can't sign somebody who doesn't want to be signed. The team tried to extend Dak last year and the year before. When the team first started talking about an extension, Dak fired Jeff Guerriero and hired France and CAA. Every year, Dak has refused to extend and simply said he wants to focus on football and leave the business end to his agent. Dak and France were never signing an extension. They were never going to accept 30 or 33 or 35. They always wanted to set the market and do a short deal so that they could get right back to the table. How many times must I say this? Go look at what France and CAA did with Aaron Donald and the Rams. That's what He's doing with Dak and the Cowboy right now. This is not on Jerry or the Cowboys IMO. That's all a bunch of BS.
