I went game by game, play by play. This is what I got.

In losses
GB 24-0, 305 yards
NYJ 21-3, 177 yards
Buf 23-7, 165 yards
Chi 24-7, 250 yards

In wins
NYG 28-10, 79 yards
Was 31-14, 11 yards
Mia 24-6, 15 yards
Phi 27-7, 78 yards
LA 28-7 52 yards
Was 20-3, 181 yards

In losses 897 yards. In wins 416 yards. Total 1313 yards. Divided by 4902 total passing yards.

26.8 % of yards were when game was out of reach.
That's pretty good. Must commend the research and nuance. This took the discussion up a notch.

These arguments reminds me of this

Critic can see any stat out there and it will mean nothing. No one will budge on this topic

Darn right. Everybody is dug in.

We don't need no stinking stats, we watch the games.

Don't forget the Jags game where Mahommes threw a garbage TD. Or the other Broncos game where they were up 21.

You looked into this yet you failed to mention these games. Hmm I wonder why?

Keep it coming troll boy.

The Chiefs only scored 5.1 ppg in the fourth quarter. 18% of their total. They definitely weren’t throwing it around the yard. The Cowboys scored 8.8 ppg in the fourth quarter, 32.6% of their total.

What do you feel it was suppose to validate? This thread was more so created to debunk the whole "garbage time" lie people keep putting on him.

If you are using it only to show that Dak was not a garbage time QB, I guess it works. By itself, it doesn't show that he was a good QB, though, just as much as it doesn't mean Winston was.

Don't you guys hate when people try to boost up how well a quarterback played especially when they have all those "garbage time" yards in them? Let's see what it looks like if you take out all of those garbage time yards out of it.

The fact Winston is on top of this list tells you how much garbage there is in these stats LOL.

This is beyond hilarious.

Dak has the highest percentage of yardage from garbage time of anyone on that lost (14% of total). Granted, we don’t know from the chart what the rest of the QBs in the league did... but how does this chart help Pro Dak’s claims? Yet that group is using this as proof? Lol.. too rich.

For the record, I think the argument about garbage time stats is useless... I just find this entertaining.

Relax. No Cowboys fan actually believes Dak is better than Patrick.

now does that include a factor of when trailing by 21 or more, like if it is in the first quarter, does that make 45 minutes + garbage time? Or does the clock stop on said time if you score to make it only 14 down or 18 down.

I never said anything like that. You pumpers think everyone that criticizes Dak must hate him. How about thinking he’s above average? Is that not ok?
It’s nothing about him being average
It’s about using opponents averages against other teams

Why wouldn't he be at the top of this list? He had 30 Touchdowns 5100 and 30 picks. You don't think anyone that threw it all game long would be leading this stat?

Oh of course not. I think his QBR is enough to show how good of a quarterback he was. I don't think you can point to just one stat especially passing yards to determine how good someone is.

In other words you can’t explain why up by 21 isn’t garbage time but somehow down 21 is.

read this thread. You made a joke of yourself. People are laughing at you while you twist yourself into a pretzel trying to defend the indefensible.
I can explain it. When you are up 21.......are you facing what you guys call a "prevent defense"? Since that's your excuse for everything?

Pro Dakker's aren't using it as some gauge. My main point isn't the percentage of his yards. Its the yards itself. Unless you are arguing 4400 isn't a lot of passing yards.

It’s a lot of yards. Never said it wasn’t. What would be helpful is the number of passing attempts in non garbage time (using the same parameters as the yardage is) to get an idea.

But the “see he doesn’t rack it up in garbage time” argument isn’t refuted when the chart shows he had the highest percentage of yardage in garbage time (compared to the others in the chart).

He had a lot passing yards last year. No one argued he didn’t. Some argued there was a lot in garbage time. This gives credence to those arguing that viewpoint.
