Same can be said about all you Dak Fan club boys.. At least Pappy has eyes and can see what a crap QB we have atm. You Fanboys are all enthralled and don't have the ability to see it.

Thanks for your insightful and meaningful post.

Don’t forget Lane Johnson missed the last 3 or 4 games of the season too

Thanks for the solid.

I thought there was also a key o-line man missing but didn't want to make an educated guess as people get shot down on here for any minor slip up by those with delusions of grandeur

QUARTERBACK - Dak Prescott (Cowboys)
It’s just a take; it can’t hurt you.

Looking back to 2019 before we gaze forward to 2020, the case that Prescott was the better quarterback is straightforward.

Using key metrics from PFF’s QB Annual, the analytics show that Prescott was substantially better than Carson Wentz from a clean pocket, produced more positively graded plays, avoided negative plays, was on target more often, had a better adjusted completion percentage and was more efficient on third down.

The areas where Wentz rated higher, like when under pressure and with big time throws, it’s much tighter. Thus Prescott graded higher as a passer (13th vs. 18th) and had added value as a quality runner. It’s not just PFF either. DVOA, QBR, QB Rating, ANY/A, and so on all favor Prescott.

The all-mighty film also favors Prescott. He was the more consistent of the two, hitting the proverbial ceiling and avoiding the floor more than Wentz.

With all of those factors leaning Prescott the onus would be on me to make the case for Wentz, if I chose to do so, not the other way around. Even Vegas has the odds favoring Prescott to be MVP over Wentz.

how did he fail to deliver in 2019? he led the #1 offense. #2 passing. and #6 scoring offense.....what else is expected?
Look at the teams those numbers came from, me I expect wins and championship games. Winston had good stats too, see where he is now.

no, statiscally speaking, the 10-6, 13-3 are more normal years...9-7, with two injured OL, witten, dez (yuck) and zeke out....still end up 9-7...that for some QBs would be considered great accomplishment...and in fact a lot of dak detractors have applauded such seasons for some QBs...

8-8 is a none winning season. compared to other 3, its an outlier....
It is how it’s viewed, you see 13-3 and 9-7 as the comparable then you bring in excuses to some how try and excuse Dak. I will stand by my view you can have yours.

what missing players did wentz have? he has had just as strong, if not stronger supporting cast than Dak….

and which games did he have 100 yards passing and the back up were playing and we were down by 3-4 scores.....

and is 2019 the only year under consideration for any comparison? none of the other years count?

and what about the garrett factor? you were one of the loudest garrett haters around here...yet not a peep lately...
Wentz was missing Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson. They were playing musical chairs with RBs until they found one. Watching Wentz beat Dallas i couldn't name one of his WRs. And Ertz went out after the first quarter. Philly has a good pass catching back but the fact Wentz was able to throw passes hitting him in stride is what did Dallas in. Why can't Dak do that! Because he isn't accurate enough to be that consistent. Sure Wentz passing completion percentage might drop but he also goes for bigger plays.Defenses can't just stack the box against Wentz to stop the run because he is capable of beating a defense with his arm. I don't see Dak doing that.

Most Dak supporters bring up record AND stats

BEFORE 2019, they would bring up that goofy stat about having the 2nd amount of wins behind Tom Brady since he entered the league. They did this because his stats after 2018, did not resemble anything close to a top-10 QB.

You know this. Dont be dense
the problem is Dak detractors, want to cherry pick which time period, which games, which quarters should be considered in the argument. when anybody points to the overall, and all the data, they dismiss it...some even had the idiocy of pointing and actually mentioning the 3rd quarter of the jets game as evidence of his average play!!! now that's called cherry picking

stop cherry picking.

If I am going to waste $35-$40 mil on an average QB... I might as well have given away my 1st round picks for the next 3 years and moved up in the draft.

The result is the same...
names...give us names, otherwise you are playing madden NFL....with all these made up trades in a fantasy game....real world doesn't work the same

dak has a 4-4 record against wentz….but seemingly the focus is on one game. keep in mind, their offense plays against cowboys defense and vice versa. its not like they are playing against each other...we had defensive injuries as well...

and you keep ignoring the coaching, the one major piece that everyone, 99.9% of people on this board complained about, but everyone so conveniently wants to forget...how many announcers on TV called our offense predictable?....how many times did we hear about doug Pederson and how great he was? how many posts called wentz over rated?

and lets not forget they had Zach Ertz, probably the 2nd best TE in the league, drafted Dallas Goedert (who we wanted)...and their OL is not to shabby with a couple of top OL men...

and should we forget about the other games, that Dak beat Philly, in some difficult games? making plays after plays...but somehow it all comes down to 2019, and last game of the season (and in some cases, the 3rd quarter of Jets game)...

btw, all the stats show up on how dak has been accurate, YAC by recievers, completion perentage at all levels of the field, etc...but its easy to focus on a few bad passes which EVERY QB has, because you have an agenda and those plays stand out to you...Wentz, Wilson, Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes...all make good passes and throw bad passes....you can't simply tell me every pass those guys throw is good, or probably come back with majority of what they throw is good....but Dak is not because your eyes tell you or in this game, (ala 3rd quarter of jets game), he wasn't accurate, so there is proof!!!

that's cherry picking....

then we hear complaint from Dak detractors on why dak supporters are cherry picking....

Daks first season there was no book on him but it was started when he really struggled his 2nd game against the Giants and the Vikings. It was the following season that soured me on Dak. That Denver game was a nightmare along with Falcons, Chargers and Eagles were all must win games and he was awful. In the meantime the Eagles and Wentz beat the Falcons, chargers and Denver. I'm telling people that Dak is not that good. He gets great stats against bad teams but folds when he gets pumched in the mouth. If the Bills and Bears game didn't show people that there are some real fools who have fallen for fools gold.

Dak has the edge on Wentz but don't forget wentz came off knee surgery and also had a broken bone in his back. When Healthy Wentz has been the better QB. If you look at common opponents Wentz has beaten the better teams. Coaching does matter but when I watch Dak miss guys badly that are wide open I just say well the coach can't throw the ball for him. We're about to find out h ow much coaching can do this season.

WHEN HEALTHY...which is what the problem is. he is now injury prone and btw, that's what Romo haters pointed to all the time that Romo is injury prone...now, its used to support Wentz, who over all has been average. Dak is better than wents in almost every stat you can point to, but yet, I guess its the eye test that tells you wentz is better than Dak….that dang eye test.....

like I said, you are demanding perfection and when he is not, you point it out, write it in bold and super large font....every QB misses plays. EVERY QB misses plays. misses passes. misses wide open recievers. Brady,, Brees, Wentz, Mahomes, Jackson, Wilson, Rodgers.....none of them meet the perfection or close to perfection and the criteria you are judging, because I can go pull the same bad series, bad quarters or bad games for everyone of those players (well, maybe not mahomes...he is freakign awesome).

Yes all QBs miss passes and have bad games. But were talking about a QB that wants to be paid like a top QB when he flat out isnt in the conversation. All these other QBs that miss also make big plays and clutch 3rd down conversions to carry their team. Dak never carries this team. If the running game isnt working Dak isnt going to help you. You could almost say Dak needs Zeke to be effective. The one stat that tells the truth about Dak is his redzone passing efficiency. Im not saying Dak is garbage but I am saying he isnt as good as some here in this forum keep touting.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
one thing to keep in mind is dak played all four years under jg and his lame staff
i want to see what he does with mm

JG system is better than what MM used in green bay. Rodgers made up alot of the deifencies they had in talent and system.

The Dak hate here is incredible. I don't like the contract situation but the guy has been a good QB for the Dallas Cowboys. Please Haters just admit that. Is he Mahomes...no. How many in history have had that skill set. Is he Wilson...no. Wilson is going to the HOF. Dak is still a real good QB though. $35-40 million good...of course not.
He’s an average QB on a good team.

cousins got paid $33 mill, is he a top QB? compared to all the rest on your list? when Matt Ryan got paid and he was the highest, was he the best QB in the league? I think this has been discussed ad nauseum. what makes you a high paid player today, doesn't necessarily stay that way. in a couple of years, he may not even be top 10 paid.

and Dak has also made plenty of big plays, the highest number of comeback wins since 2016...so that can't be dismissed. you act as if he hasn't had any clutch big 3rd down conversions or big come back games, which is far from the truth.

and everyone keeps talking about carrying a team. which QBs really carry their team. let me start...Mahomes…. maybe, Rodgers. even the great brady has been surrounded with great talent, Wilson hasn't accomplished much since he lost the vaunted defense and couple of his weapons. I always have argued, its what you can accomplish when you are given good talent to work with.....and this is not necessarily about wins, although that's part of the equation.

and I blame a lot of our redzone issues on bad coaching, bad scheme. I can't count the number of times I saw the WRs run the same exact route once we were inside the 20, expecting us to just beat out the man they play against. predictable calls. so coaching has a lot to do with success of a team and all Dak detractors avoid the coaching discussion like the plague.

Good team? Did you nap when the defense and special teams were on the field?
No, but as I recall, Dak napped in the first quarter or two. Three and outs wreak havoc on the defense. Did you miss that?

Oh boy. You Dak haters and your bias. Again, Dak threw for 4900 yards. 65 pct completion rate. 30 TDs vs 11 INTs. Rushed for 3 more. Among the top 5 in YPA and QBR.

Does that not sound like a good player?

Now before you get your panties twisted and pound on your key board - did I say he was as worth 40 million? Did I say he was in the Mahomes or Wilson category? I did not.

Don’t be a biased knucklehead.
