Zeke Elliott is holding his own so far among some of the NFL RB greats.

Let me know if anyone else is above him, but from what I can tell he has the 7th best all-time start to an NFL career after 4 years (rushing yards)

  1. E. Dickerson (6968)
  2. L. Thomlinson (5899)
  3. A Peterson (5782)
  4. E Smith (5699)
  5. B Sanders (5674)
  6. C. Johnson (5665)
  7. E. Elliott (5405)
Ahead of Payton, Simpson, Faulk, Allen, Dorsett, Bettis, James, Martin, Anderson, Brown (due to 2 gm seasons only), etc

Not bad. He's built to last a while too. Knock on wood

AND he has missed half of an NFL season. HOF player as long as he stays healthy.

Edit: on the conservative side I'd say he would likely have 600 more yds if he plays in those 8 games. That would put him 2nd. Heck of a start to his career.

And that four year period includes the BS eight game suspension.

Agreed-it was 6 games, when he was averaging over 100 per game. He'd be behind Dickerson only if not for that BS. And Dickerson had like 3900 in his first 2 years. lol

Had it not been for his uncalled for 4 game suspension back in 2017, Zeke would easily be up in the Top 3 right now.

Thanks a lot, Badell!!!!! :banghead:

For those of you that are too young to remember Eric Dickerson, he was like 6ft3 and once he got to the outside his combination of speed and power were literally too uch for the defense. One of my all time favorite players.

A beast
Remember though, Dickerson is from Texas and played his college ball in Dallas and had his career followed closely and commemorated fairly regularly.
Man, he was good.

Which reminds me...I left Earl Campbell off this list.

I love the arguments sometimes about running backs compared to zeke.

Dalvin Cook is more explosive (but has one healthy season)
Derrick Henry is better (has had two out of four good seasons)
Aaron Jones (One great year)
Barkley - Could be great but hurt.
Gurley - Hurt.

Zeke may not be burner type RB, but find me a guy that will keep the chains moving like he does. Find me a guy that will get you on average 1400 yards and 10 touchdowns a year. While catching the ball and blocking. Zeke is durable, zeke is consistent. Zeke is great.

Also remember this number. 6600. Thats how many yards zeke needs to be in the top 20 all time and a likely hall of famer. Over 5 years thats around 1300 yards a year.

Just imagine how many more yards he would have if the coaches didn't go away from him when he was in a groove over his first 4 years. Not to mention the 6-game suspension.
