Dak for 4 years at $30MM-$35MM/per isn't going to wreck anything. It's a blessing in disguise.

You know, some people just choose to not live in reality. It's a fact that Dak is...at worst...in the top third or so of QBs and due to market conditions that *are only going in one direction* that the longer we take the more it will cost. Should Dak be the highest paid QB, no. Will it maybe take getting close to that, just so we can get him signed before Mahomes, Watson and Jackson reset the QB market, yes.

I wouldn't tinkle on McNabb if he spontaneously combusted.

IMO, the tag will be a toxic scenario. Dak will likely not show up until the 11th hour, a tremendous amount of bad will be generated and it could potentially lead to division within the locker room. Oh, and welcome aboard Coach.

The tag is going to cost much more when you consider opportunity cost and the potential fallout from a damaged relationship. Then what do they do, tag him again in 2021? I am not in the camp that thinks Dalton is more than a dude that helps you feel better about what happens when what you wish would never happen, happens.

Franchise QBs eat up a big amount of cap. You need them to win in the NFL. I am in favor of less years on Dak's deal to give the Cowboys an out sooner rather than later.

To win a superbowl these days you need a franchise quarterback on a rookie or vet deal - not the painful expensive stuff in between.

And some of you thought I was crazy when I said the people wanting us to sign Dak so bad, some fans included are just trolls, wanting to laugh at Jerry and see us ruined.

Handcuffed to a bum.

Fans that want Dak at any price have to be trolls or only Dak fans.

When your opinion aligns with McNabb & Skip it should tell you something.

It's like Tarot cards, bro.

You shuffle the deck and start flipping.

Had a GF once who carried a deck in her purse.

She would consult them about everything. I was never really comfortable with it.

But sometimes she would get an answer which would be correct.

Same thing with those Magic Eight Ball as a kid.

Fun stuff..

So we all shape opinions. I very much liked my fortune teller friend. Lots of fringe benefits if I indulged her drama.

Same thing with media types. I spent 30+ years as a pro photog and knew many.

It is all about readership, first to break a story, etc. They can be spooky when its deadline day.

They will create anything for their editors to keep them.

Syndication is their Narvana.

McNabb is just another name from the never ending list of insecure, jealous wannabes.

She was not there to do anything but playtime for me.

She also believed in precious stones all over her apartment and crystals. Had them by the bed, in the bathroom, next to the bathtub.

Beautiful girl..just sort of head in the clouds young but so was I.

Whatever,

Bet Jerrah has had his Tarot cards read a few times.

Seems the type who would never let a stone go unturned if he needed it.

I've got to think they have a ranking of Prescott with all the other QB1's and are trying to project value over how ever long they want the contract to be. We only know what they're leaking to the media.

The fact is they failed to take advantage of his affordable years as KC has with Mahomes and BAL has with Jackson. That is not his fault. He has still given them tremendous value for his salary and % of the cap. Time to pay the piper.

Now, they have to pay or do what you're suggesting and go shopping but these shoppers wanted Lynch and Cook before him. Anyone here want to send this brain trust QB shopping? They are among the worst in the league and need luck.
You can determine future pay based on past performance, but to expect a premium because you were at a discount relative to other players at the position is misguided to say the least. Dak was passed over 134 times before the Cowboys gave him a chance and it turned out to be the best situation in the league for him to succeed.

They still have two years of tag to play with Dak. I would seriously consider that route if uncomfortable with the investment (including possible opportunity cost) required to get him signed to a deal.

McNabb couldn’t QB a Super Bowl winner in a time where the NFC East was beyond weak.
