is this the Aikman concussion game ? - subbed by backup Bernie Kosar while Alvin Harper makes yet another huge catch to seal the victory to advance us to
another SB while delivering more Doom and outta playoffs to the Niners Doom...??!!

BTW getting a Andy Dalton,..could that be ensuring getting another Bernie Kosar type in the most dire critical of crisis ? o_O

Why, yes, it is @quickccc ! What a great game (and backup plan) that was to help lead our Cowboys to another Super Bowl game. Picking up Andy Dalton sure reminds us of how good it is to have a pretty good backup at QB just in case. Coach McCarthy, Jerry, Stephen and Will have done an excellent job rebuilding this roster in a matter of months.

I already watched those championships and SBs like 25 times. Recently I've been watching older than that games. Like the playoff victory against the #1 seed Falcons in 1980. That game brings back such great memories. Like my father squirming in his seat as the Cowboys were coming back.

Not just that game. Kosar played in several games that November, including the week he signed.

Maybe they dont get the one seed without him, and maybe that's enough to not reach the SB that year.

It made zero sense to be trying to win without a competent backup QB.

Literally one of the most forgotten games....
Steve young was one of the most overrated players of all time.
SanFran showed the benefit of playing in a garbage division like the modern Pats....get home field advantage every year and Candlestick was a big advantage for them. This game shows how inferior they were to the Cowboys. The whiners and Young had no business winning a SB.
Take away home field and we easily win four in a row.
Wow how many points do we score if Aikman plays the second half? 50?
That Bernie throw to Harper was lucky, awful decision, thrown so poorly that only Harper could get it and he did...lol

Every off season on Sundays and Thursday night I watch one of the Cowboys games I have. I usually start off with some of the older games, but i don't go in any real order. If I'm watching NFL or reading some article that references a game I tell myself I'm going to watch that one next or in some cases if I don't have it start looking for it and download it so I can put it on DVD and add it to my collection. Just like a few years ago I started getting the Super Bowls and now have 41 of them on DVD. I know the one I'll never be able to get because the actual film is lost is Super Bowl I. There are a couple of shows that were done that show some of the game with comments during it and I have one of those. It's only 1 hour and 13 minutes long so much of the game is not there. Some of the early Super Bowl games like some of the early Cowboys games I have are not really great quality but something is better than nothing.

Tell me about it. It was an ill advised pass but he probably adjusted last second. Because no way can he put it in front of Harper.

Are you talking about the one NFL Films cleaned up? The one that had a really good picture? I thought they did a great job on that. But I forget how long it was. I've been recently looking for the 1973 game against the 49ers where Dallas had that great comeback. I think it was 1973. The other one is SB II. Can't seem to find either of those.

The '90s Cowboys enroute to their 2nd SB trip during the '90s, led by Coach Jimmy Johnson.

Aaah, the memories. Enjoy!

:starspin:

Great memories. Notice how few flags were thrown in an NFL game back in those days? The sport really has suffered from referees who want to be in the spotlight.

Also I forgot how well Emmitt caught the ball out of the backfield. And Novachek was the man!! Aikman’s accuracy was uncanny.

Stop. The Niners were a good team. The Cowboys were better, but those two teams were the class of the NFC.

When they faced off again, the Cowboys were without Ken Norton, Alvin Harper, and Jimmy Johnson and the Niners were plus Deion. That was enough to put them over the top.

Thank God we had Aikman at first. Those times #8 held on and ran it, Romo would have forced it and turned it over.

good team but take away home field because they played in the worst division in football and different story.
We were clearly still the better team and despite all the turnovers and garbage that happened early, we were still a PI call away from likely winning that game.
