Not sure how people feel about LawNation.

Huge fan of his. Guy deserves props for his work

He puts in some effort by making videos but he is clueless.

The other 2 guys that do similar style Cowboys analysis video are better. One of them is much better.

I watched this video last night that LawNation posted and wanted to share it.. I know most of us are over talking about the freckled puppet but this video is a MUST SEE and has inside info that validates everything. (WATCH THE FIRST 30 MIN's)

Jesse Holley goes on to talk about Garrett's insecurities and how he pushed the narrative to fault of being the smartest guy in the room. In fact, he also said that the most NFL players are alpha males and see through someone whom is fake and this is why the team didn't sell out to win week after week. He believes that the players just didn't buy Jason Garrett as an authenticate leader of men. Basically, they all knew he was phony as a coach and this is why they ultimately failed under his tenure.

So much great stuff here to see and unfiltered! One of the best interviews I've seen.

I thought it when George Iloka popped off on Kris Richard....and I think it now.

All of what he is saying may be true, but be careful how much you believe from bottom-of-the-roster guy.

There's a good chance Kris specifically didn't want George disguising intent because he was/is a marginal player....Kris just wanted him to line up in the correct spot.

Likewise, I suspect, Jesse may hold a grudge against Garrett....he's always been critical of Garrettt for as long as I can remember. And it all might be true, but it could also be sour-grapes and him trying to make a living talking about sports at a time when there are no sports and he has to talk about something....

lol...first he says the players didn't buy in or respect, that's bs, because Lee, Ware,Heath,Witten,Jordan Lewis, all say different. 2. as for changing plays, that's exactly what a damn qb is suppose to do, They come to the line read defense and change a play or make adjustments according to what the defense shows him. shows how little Jesse knows about football with such a ridiculous take,You know who else talked about a player changing plays Sean Payton, Brees does all the time, you know who else talked about changing plays. Manning and Brady talked about this very thing on one of the Peyton' s place shows.
Of course players change...dummy. But in this case Romo was changing plays because Garrett's offense VANILLA....did you even listen to podcast...if you don't understand the difference then this is an exercise in stupidity.

Heath Gone - players knew he only started because Garrett's guy and not best safety

Ware loved Garrett so much he refused a team friendly extension

Witten Gone - Last year team ignored leadership because of average play

Lee Injured, good guy but liability currently

Of course the team respected Garrett as s man but Head Coach....TRASH

Jimmy was a college teammate and was highly coveted by other NFL franchises including the San Francisco 49ers. Carmen Policy admitted he almost went after Jimmy when Bill Walsh retired. George Seifert talks about it as well.

Parcells was an effort to legitimize the franchise in order to get the stadium built. Drunk Jerry was caught on video saying this.

McCarthy was awful his last two years in Green Bay and while I'm hopeful he wins here, he qualifies as to be determined.

Jerry is a great business man. He is an absolute fraud as a football man.
Considering a third of Jerry's reign included Garrett as his HC, I tend to agree with you.

you are wasting your time with a coach who is on record as saying that coaching is never at fault in a loss, players have to execute better

just ignore him

Jesse stated what many of us saw. The predictability and inflexibility was crippling. Just makes me sad that we wasted a decade, including many years with a great QB, with Garrett. Sickening really. I AM SO GLAD HE IS GONE.

garrett was and still is not a good head coach I for one am glad he is gone he may do well in new York if he does good for him but he will either get the current head coach out or move on to another team to be a head coach if he has success it will be to further his own goals he never won any thing in dallas and he wouldn't if he stayed another twenty years

JG is the past, time to move on. The time to make this video was years ago, not when someone runs out of material to make.

Okay man, look, Jesse's comments hold more weight than that of most of ours on this forum since he not only played for the man but has quite a few close ties to the organization and players. What Jesse says about Garrett isn't some sort of revelation it's what most of us whom are in tune with human nature could see easily when gazing into garret's puppet eyes..
They don’t hold more weight than players that were with Garrett and have far and away most said they respect Garrett as a person.

By the ways, it’s pretty funny you dismiss my comments by say he was a player and fans don’t know, yet you claim that as a fan you knew and didn’t need the player to tell you to confirm it. That’s a pretty clear double standard.

We all know Garrett wasn’t an effective coach, but one disgruntled guy that sat on the bench the first year and 1/2 of Garrett’s time as head coach, and who has a radio show to promote, does not speak for all other players or fans. Not being a good coach is not the same as being a loser person

I certainly don't agree with some things Holley says, but he was good here.

You guys bashing Holley....did you even listen to what he said?
He spoke intelligently about multiple topics.
The OP wanted to make this about Garrett but that was only a small fraction.

Also, just because Holley wasn't a great player doesn't mean he doesn't understand the game.
Most great coaches weren't great players either. Thats a silly concept.
Most great players are awful coaches.

A smart player, especially under contract, is going to give the company line.

Garrett sucked. Just admit how wrong you were.

I don't see Holley as disgruntled.
He's said good things about Garrett in the past. More on a personal level though vs his coaching.
No doubt that he's clearly a fan of McCarthy, and how after he got a bit stale I GB went to work hard to upgrade his approach.

Don't know. All we know for sure is Garrett ended up exactly where he wanted to be if the Cowboys let him go....(the Giants).

And not defending Jason (or not trying to), I think talent covered his butt more than a few times. And he never had the knack for motivating the team in the win or go home games. He lacked in firing guys up expecting talent to overcome everything else.

At the same time, NFL QBs never have been the best at being NFL coaches. Jim Harbaugh is considered the exception to the rule but looking at the list.....(through 2014)

Jim Harbaugh, Bears 2011-14 49ers 40-15-1 .723
John Rauch, N.Y. Bulldogs 1966-68 Raiders, ’69-70 Bills 40-28-2 .586
Frankie Albert, 49ers 1956-58 49ers 19-16-1 .542
Jason Garrett, Cowboys 2010-14 Cowboys 35-30-0 .538
Tom Flores, Raiders 1979-87 Raiders, ’92-94 Seahawks 97-87-0 .527
Allie Sherman, Eagles 1961-68 Giants 57-51-4 .527
Ted Marchibroda, Steelers 1975-79/’92-95 Colts,’96-98 Ravens 87-98-1 .470
Gary Kubiak, Broncos 2006-13 Texans 61-64-0 .488
Sam Wyche, Bengals 1984-91 Bengals, ’92-95 Bucs 84-107-0 .440
Harry Gilmer, Commanders 1965-66 Lions 10-16-2 .393
June Jones, Falcons 1994-96 Falcons, ’98 Chargers 22-36-0 .379
Steve Spurrier, 49ers 2002-03 Commanders 12-20-0 .375
Jim Zorn, Seahawks 2008-09 Commanders 12-20-0 .375
Kay Stephenson, Bills 1983-85 Bills 10-26-0 .278
Frank Filchock, Commanders 1960-61 Broncos 7-20-1 .268

Flores won two Super Bowls, Harbaugh, Rauch and Wyche got to Super Bowls, while Sherman had three NFL title games, and Marchibroda came within a Hail Mary of going to the Super Bowl in 1995 (a little trivia final play of the 1995 AFC Championship game was a Hail Mary by Jim Harbaugh which hit Aaron Bailey in the chest and fell to the turf before he could haul it in).

Even Hall of Fame QBs haven't been successful as NFL Head Coaches.....

Sammy Baugh, Commanders 1960-61 N.Y Titans, ’64 Oilers 18-24-0 .429
Bob Waterfield, Rams 1960-62 Rams 9-24-1 .279
Norm Van Brocklin, Rams 1961-66 Vikings, ’68-74 Falcons 66-100-7 .402
Otto Graham, Browns 1966-68 Commanders 17-22-3 .440
Bart Starr, Packers 1975-83 Packers 52-76-3 .408

(If you want to add the Saints’ Sean Payton (77-43, .642), a replacement quarterback during the ’87 strike, to this list, be my guest.)
Interesting points.

You should start a thread on this.

It's an interesting topic.

I am sure we would all have a view on this.

As for me..I always wondered why guys like Danny Reeves and Mike Ditka from the Landry Tree did so well...

Dick Nolan in San Francisco..

Norv Turner..

But few if any QBs.

Aikman I would have thought had the head, Romo the offensive understanding..

both could be exceptional HCs.

Even Danny White who did coach in other leagues took a shot.

But I have no clue about why they have not been QB HCs of noteworthy proportions.

Others probably know more.
