The video doesn't impress me. Mostly because Tyron could do that to any of the posters here.

Deserves more cred than he has been given.
Deserves a place on the all time best players for this team list.
Yeah..

To me I think of Rayfield Wright, Larry Allen and Williams. Ralph Neeley and Mark Stepnoski as great OL.

Tyron Smith has been good in his early years..not as much the last 3. Too many injuries. Availability has bee a big issue for him. They seem to know he will miss a quarter of a season anymore.

Hopefully somebody can fill his spot some this year and keep him fresh.

I'll add Nate Newton to that list.

Niland too.

Well i feel a little better about his core strength after watching this.

I feel it's a good sign that he didn't seem to be favoring his back in any way.

He is one of the all-time greats. I never doubted his strength. Tyron is always in great shape. But watch him play against NFL DEs and you can see he has lost a little lateral quickness. I remember the end of Larry Allen's career with Dallas. He was still strong as an ox, but his feet were not as quick and he struggled with quicker DTs. Larry Allen was the greatest OG I have ever seen and there have been a lot of good ones in my 50+ years of watching football. Father time wins the war against everyone.

Tyron is young still but he has had a fair share of injuries, especially to his back. Back problems do not go away. There is no operation to heal them either. They can operate to relieve the pain but there is usually a tradeoff, like flexibility or mobility. I really hope Tryon can recover some of his quickness, but I am being realistic when I do not expect it. When Tyron retires or is released by the Cowboys, it will be a huge loss for the team. There are not many LTs as good as he was. But it is going to happen and its going to happen sooner than we'd like.

I'd just like him to be able to play 16 games. Even with what he's lost, he's far better than anyone else we can put out there and most left tackles in the league.

The dude also signed an 8 year contract. That is extremely team friendly. Hopefully the Cowboys don't screw him on that deal or no one else is going to want to sign long term. I'm hoping he's got at least 2-3 years left if not all 4.

Yes.

To be sure.

One of my favs nobody remembers was Tony Liscio.

As I remember him, I had first started following the team in 1966.

We were just becoming Americas Team. We had Dan Reeves as a rookie HB.

Cleveland owned the Conference and Don Perkins was the FB. Liscio had been cut in TC and retired.

An injury cropped up and the whole offense was in danger of imploding due to protection and run blocking issues.

Tony Liscio came back and played like a demon. Quickly became a crowd fav..unheard of as an OL.

As a young fan, I had no clue how pro ball worked beyond the basics.

But I always have taken interest in our Big Ugglies.

They never get enough credit.

It amazes me when people suggested he wasnt as good as he was in years past so we needed a replacement. In the near future I'd say yes that's probably the reality but subpar year for Tyron was still really good. I'm not saying he never got beat or committed a bad penalty but he was still an above average tackle, who with injuries, still did a really good job. I bet you there would be teams lined up to get a left tackle to play as well as he did last year. He will move on at some point but I believe hes still more then capable of being our starting tackle.

I remember everybody complaining when we drafted a “right tackle” with the 9th overall pick. Turned out to be one of the greatest draft picks in Dallas Cowboys history.
:yourock:
Really? Who in hades thought he was a right tackle?

I always thought LA could have been a monster DT
That’s strength and quickness
He was an amazing player
