Jarwin should be a big upgrade over 2019 Witten

Quite honestly it was hard to watch Jason Witten last season. He didn't belong on the field in any aspect. The offense should dramatically improve with him now in Las Vegas:

-Opposing teams didn't fear Witten what so ever. They knew he could no longer beat teams up the seam, getting any kind of yards after the catch and more of a liability as an inline blocker.

-Jarwin maybe never become an asset as a inline blocker at the position, but has legitimate receiving skills that opposing defenses must account for. He is going to see the most favorable match-ups within the entire offense and should finally breakout this season with more opportunities. We saw a glimpse of what he can do in a larger role during the season finale two years ago against the Giants.

Jarwin should have a huge season.

Teams will be forced to focus on Cooper, Gallup and Lamb. Not to mention if they stay in a small Nickel or Dime formation, Zeke will run through them all.

He should feast this year in the seams

I agree, We saw what he was capable of doing in the Giant Finale game 2 yrs ago, believe he had over 100 yards and 3 TD's.

Definitely looking forward to seeing Jarwin this season. He has a chance to have a very good season with more talent around him and more opportunities in front of him.

Excited to see what he can do full-time.

All he did was produce when he got snaps. 8th in yards per route run among TE's last year.

I was in favor of Witten coming back last season, thought he would help with run blocking and in critical situations but feel like probably hendered Jarwins development. I definitely think now it is for the best he moved on. Great player for many years but sometimes you gotta call it a day.

Catching passes is only half the job of a TE.

We could have plucked a lot of guys off the street and had them be upgrades over Witten the past few years, he's the posterchild for what's wrong with our front office.

You mean what was wrong with Garrett? Notice that the first year a REAL HC comes in is the last one with Cowboys? Same with scrubs like Heath.

Why would you be shocked the Raiders signed Witten? They also hired Marinelli. Gruden will be exposed as an incompetent has been in short order.

Witten was hired for leadership purposes. Marinelli is only a DL coach.

See...……..smartly, Garrett and Marinelli are only assistant coaches somewhere else. Jones had these clowns heading his entire organization on both sides of the ball.

Jarwin could smoke cigarettes on the sideline the entire game and be an upgrade over Witten.

It is pretty telling that Mm wanted no part of having Witten around.

Witten was an albatross the last several years he played for the Cowboys. A lot like Dez.

Garrett has a lot of flaws but maybe his biggest was his refusal to move on from BAD players.

Yes, but Witten was a terrible blocker last season. It was painful to watch at times, he would flat out miss his assignment.

Agreed. Witten has been a VERY poor blocker for the past several years. He also became a bit of a lazy player at blocking.
