In no universe can Cooper be in the running for breakout player. He’s been by far our best receiver since arriving a year and a half ago. All he needs to do is become more consistent and not disappear every now and then. Battling nagging injuries all last year didn’t help. But, he’s been extremely productive overall.
If he breaks out of his inconsistent play, wouldn't that make him a breakout player? I mean, you just said he needs to become more consistent.

Doesn't breakout mean, a player is putting the league on notice. That he'll perform on a constantly high level for years to come?

Opinions vary, just like beliefs. But any player that hasn't been consistent can still be considered a breakout player, to me.

Jameis Winston just lead the league in passing yards. But he can still be a breakout player, because he's so inconsistent.

Just my opinion and opinions vary, just like beliefs.

No. In my mind, a breakout player is one that hasn’t done much. An obscure player. Cooper is far from that.

i dunno what you define as trash or garbage as i would think that would be someone many are lobbying to cut and get rid of (such as the Jeff Heath haters)
Woods was a INT machine at small Louisana Tech but at the end of his 3rd year it hasn't yet materialized for him at the NFL level.
i'm not hearing the vibes that he is a budding star waiting in the wings. Hes been just serviceable at this point. And serviceable/decent doesnt get him a
2nd contract and long term investment here as a starter.

i think he has the hands and instincts to be a better play maker but for whatever reason he's not always in the best position to make the play and
his tackling is too inconsistent, hes the smallest "listed" 200 lbs DB, i've ever seen. and he tackles like he's a 180 pound lightweight and he'll get
bowled over by backs and running QBs, does he wear down as season goes on ? the good thing is he can handle man coverage on most parts.
and i thought playing more center field would have helped him.

He's been average - and i think the Cowboys were hoping for far more than average. And they will move on from in free agency, if Xavier remains just
average.
Well Woods isn't a freelancer like Earl Thomas, so he just does his job. And playing the same old dull coverage, week in week out, isn't going to allow him to produce many stats. So his ineffectiveness may be in part because he plays the single high in a three deep set.

hopefully not only Woods..but the entire secondary unit will show marked improvement under a new coaching regime.
But while i believe he offers some pass game skills i still have concerns about only woods, but ha ha Dix and their ability to
be consistent tacklers. i tend to like Xavier better in the center field than as closer to the line in the box type.

Offense - think there are several candidates but if you eliminate Lamb since he's a top 20 pick I'd go with either Jarwin or Pollard. I can see Jarwin feeding as defenses key on all the other weapons. Could also see a path for Connor McG to establish himself.

Defense - Maybe Luke Phillips. Maybe Jelks or Armstrong. Maybe Diggs, Gallimore or Robinson. Tough. I'm going to say there will be more than one that at the end of year will qualify but I'm going to select Gallimore.

The Non Kick Step, ball ignoring Chidobe. I really hope a new scheme/style will help him this year. He's better than he showed last year.
Woods at Safety is another good pick to have his best year. Here's hoping.

There honestly aren't that many to choose from:
First year players to the team whether through being a draft pick, being a free agent, or injury don't qualify
Players are already amongst the best in the league at their position also don't qualify

So of starters only these positions apply- LG, C, TE and RDE, CB, and SAF.
