Yet, Garoppolo somehow got to the big game after they paid him. It's almost like the team crippling theory is fantasy.
Partly because he's essentially a good quarterback and partly because their defensive front seven were/are loaded with first round picks.

Wait that doesn't make sense. How could they have a good defense after paying their QB!?

Are you trying to say they weren't crippled somehow?

Because they were awful for several seasons and had excellent first round picks which they nailed. Unique scenario.

Plus Jimmy G is a better QB than most people give him credit for. He showed last season that he can win games when required e.g. he was excellent in a shootout vs Drew Brees and the Saints.

And...they did lose the Superbowl after all. Jimmy G missed the late throw for a TD but the defense did allow over 20 points in the final quarter. It could be argued that if they had a rookie or cheap vet QB deal that they would have been able to build a stronger secondary = win the SB.

Falcons D fell apart late on due to lack of resources in similar fashion.

It will interesting how the Commanders get on next season as their defensive front looks very strong on paper.

How did Dak Prescott step into, according to many here, the most stacked offense of all time if Tony Romo was still under his massive contract in 2016? How was Dallas able to build a championship roster just loaded with talent with one of the richest contract in NFL history still on the books?

They Drafted really well during that period and they had a lot of younger players still playing under manageable contracts.

No, I'm actually calling you out on giving a bad example of a NFL team trying to acquiring a QB thru the draft.

Oh, so you contend its easy to find a elite QB in the draft? Really, that;s what you want on the record?

It’s not easy to find an elite player at any position.

I think it’s easier than ever to find a Dak Prescott level of QB in the draft now days.

You put a talented young QB in an offense that gives them protection, has good wideouts, and an elite RB then you’re setting that prospect up for success.

Rivera will make the skins much more competitive than prior years. I think the NFCE division aside from the Giants will be much improved. Eags got their receivers and Skins will now have a strong defensive minded team and prob a year or 2 out from filling in the offensive side of the ball. I think Rivera is very underrated.

Mayfield, Brissett, Goff (just off the top of my head) can all generally be said to be in that group an none came close to Prescott.

It's honesty pretty crazy ya'll keep arguing this despite all the evidence that you're wrong.

Notice how almost all my points are backed-up with measurable evidence and the contrarians are just spitting the same old eye test conjecture.

I also really like the receiver the Commanders drafted, Gandy-Golden. I think he's way better than a 4th rounder.

Giants have seemingly finally addressed their offensive line but have a bunch of other issues going on.

If a team has a top 5 pick and is taking the top 1-2 QBs in the draft, sure. 6-10 maybe 50/50. Maybe. If a team is taking a QB anywhere after that the odds go way down.

Obviously it's not, but the odds are a considerably higher using a high pick than not.

Again, you're missing the point which I'll spell out for you since you're having a hard time:

The draft is a crapshoot for QBs--even with high picks. We know DAK is good. Therefore, if you move on with from DAK, and sell out a draft to get a new QB, odds are it will be a downgrade.

Great...so we can all stop saying paying Dak will cripple the Cowboys. If the Cowboys were able to assemble a roster soooooo good that according to many here, was able to carry a talent-less, inaccurate, no arm 4th round throw away pick in Dak Prescott to one of the leagues best records over the last 4 years...while paying Romo mega bucks...

The Cowboys should have zero problem with paying Dak.

And the Cowboys would have to continue to draft well and have younger players still under manageable contracts if they want to succeed anyways.

You can say whatever you want. Won't make it true though. LOL......
