Frankly, I don't think Garrett is smart at all. Everyone says he is.

But someone that stubborn, who can't adapt and won't listen to his own players, is just not smart.

He was sold as offensive genius to the fans by Jerry, but he was living in the 90s with ( Norv’s schemes, OL dominance, disruptive DL and excellent secondary ) Making better schemes what he had , adjusting to the opponent etc.. were nowhere to be found. I dont know about smartness but he was limited coach . ( who stubbornly never learned )

Yes Jerry did sell it to us as if he were a genius. Jerry wanted to be so right that he was willing to waste 10 years of teaching Garrett how to coach.
I guess Garrett's welcome has worn out and his schemes was not working for Jerry to finally realize that it was time for a change.

I would have respected Garrett a bit more if he would have come out being humble and worked on improving things that worked and fixing things that don't. But he wasn't even smart enough to do that.
