The Cowboys are essentially trying to have all the benefits of a 1st round Contract without paying for it. Can't say that I blame them but Dak is well within his rights to no longer want to be outside the norm of his QB peers.

You want the 5th year...PAY FOR THE 5TH YEAR.

No it doesn't. I thought you were arguing against the 4 vs 5 year deal. The article starts off saying its a rumor....but the tone of it is if its factual.

Right, so the up front Guaranteed amount and how the actual numbers are structured, makes all the difference in the world between 4 and 5 years. That's a big deal.

While you guys are haggling over numbers, I'm looking at the big picture.

1. Fish could use a sunblock endorsement.
2. Expect a new host of the CMA.
3. Somehow his wife signed off on a bunk bed in the first floor master.

I don't understand this. Why would you say that they are trying to have the benefits of a 1st round contract? I don't see that at all. If the contract were a third of the asking price the Cowboys have offered, OK.

The article covers this pretty well. Dak would prefer a 4-year deal. If they want a fifth year, he's asking for a contract $10 million higher than what they've offered ($185 vs. $175).

Sounds like
Cowboys offer: 5 years, $175, $105 guaranteed

Dak's offers:
4 years, $140 OR
5 years, $185

I don't know what the guarantees he's asking for are.

If this is the case, the deal should get done before TC. They’ll probably meet in the middle at 5 for 180. He better be awesome over the next few years or this will go down as Jerry’s biggest miss.

OK, so we are either going to say, "Oh, it's a rumor, nothing to see here" and move along or we are going to discuss this for another 12 pages. Where do you see this going?

So again I ask, what has changed from then to now?
It's a forum, who cares how many pages folks want to discuss it. I'm not saying anything, but literally the very first sentence said it was the latest rumor. So, expect things to change.

You do realize that Fisher is a click-bait prostitute...right?

And what makes you think that Fish would be privy to the numbers now being negotiated? Is he in the room?

Suggest you either beg, borrow, steal or grow a brain. But do try to acquire one, please.

This info isn't enough to determine anything without knowing what Dak wants in guaranteed money, but it certainly is more than the $106 million the Cowboys offered. That being said, I don't think you can dismiss the 5th year just because it isn't guaranteed. With increased penalties for holdouts I think extension negotiations could get more contentious.

Does the article tell you how much up front, guaranteed?

It doesn't but that's irrelevant. Him wanting a $45 million base salary in 2024 is completely irrelevant in regards to the guarantees or initial 3 year cash flow. Fifty year salary is all funny money. His guarantees and cash flow aren't linked to his 2024 salary in any way.
