I've been hoping these two would get re-instated. I highly doubt both of them will come back and be very good for us. Maybe one of them will, but very little chance that both return to past levels. We got Smith back today so I hope we get Randy back too. Because it gives us better odds to actually have a decent pass rushing rotation. Still not holding my breathe on either one actually making a huge impact.

When the hell was Randy Gregory our best DL?

He's never even been a good player.
It only showes how far we were at the bottom of the barrel for help.

Remember Tank got suspended and it was looking like we had struck out on the draft picks.

So even after Gregory failed the Combine test..they went for him.

He had no time to really show us what he had..then it all went south.

I really have small hope he or Smith do anything.

Add in Taco and now Hill limping out of the gates..

we are just pathetic under Jerrah and Garrett as a force defensively.

I have no idea how we were not the worst team in the NFL then.

Romo was the only reason.

I think we were just screwed for Salary Cap. The D-Line was Crawford, Hayden, Melton and Mincey which makes me shudder. Fortunately Church, Lee and RoMac were really good against the run and we were able to control
the clock on offense.

Romo did have some help though. Murray was the NFL offensive player of the year off the back of the o-line and Dez was the best RedZone weapon in the NFL at the time.

He's never even been a good player.

Code:
From week 5 on, 2018
     Sacks/QBhits
Gregory 6/14
Lawrence 5/14

Lawrence was probably better during that time, but not by a ton.

And *last* season, Lawrence had 0.5/6 sacks/QBhits in the last 8 games.

Not really. He was a 2nd round pick and is still on his rookie deal. Since there was never a reason to cut him, the Cowboys didn't. It's not like the Cowboys signed him as a FA.

Randy applied for reinstatement about the 23rd of March. That means the commish's deadline for a decision is about Friday. I say "about" because the exact date the application was submitted is not known but the reports saying he did so are dated 23 March.

I just found him to be...okay in 2018? He took some dumb penalties and I felt like he could go stretches without any pressure. As a backup sure but he's not what I'm looking for in a starter anymore.

Yeah I still root for Gregory. He has no knucklehead in him. A smart guy that has an issue. I think we are about to see the best of him.
Agree. He is not a bad character player like David Irving.

Gregory is one of the most "well spoken" players on the team and had the highest SAT of any player drafted in the Jerry era.

He just has an issue with weed which is not really much different than people than people are addicted to cigarettes and much less harmful than alcohol to himself or other people.

Although the league has a direction now...unlike law principals, it does not apply retroactively as to current status. This misses the mark for clemency and moving on at law...

Marijuana has changed in the NFL...treat Gregory accordingly. Period!

What is silly is blaming that Rams debacle on Randy Gregory. That whole front 7 got worked over and the morons coaching them had no answer.

No, what's silly is trying to call Randy Gregory this team's "best defensive lineman". He's never been that, even the few times he has played.

And Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth abused him all game long.

You're right of course, it wasn't ALL on him, but he wasn't part of any solution either, and far from any "best defensive lineman" like you're trying to claim.

Just stop it with that nonsense.

Is it nonsense because you have a different opinion? Go check out the game logs from 2018. Weeks 6 through 16. Comp that vs Lawrence. Also watch the games again. Most of DLaws production came in the first 5-6 games that year. We know the DTs sucked. They have sucked for a long time. Do this without wearing your HotBoyz t shirt and come back to me.

It's nonsense because it's not close to being true.

Do you actually think I'm a Lawrence or HotBoyz fan? Are you truly this uninformed or is this another tantrum because you're being called out for talking nonsense on Gregory?

Can all 4 players be bad in a game and still have one that was bad but just not as bad as the others?

I think, and I could be wrong, that they are saying Randy was the best DL player on the team........ even though they all were bad in that Rams game. I don't think the context was to say Randy was a top DL in the league.

I could be wrong but that's how I interpreted it.
