-Team has to replace former all-pro Center, Travis Frederick. There will be also competition to see who starts at Left Guard:

Looney who was his replacement when Travis missed the season 2 years ago. That team won the division and a playoff game. OL gave up a ton of sacks that year, some were due to poor blocking other times where Dak held onto the ball way too long.

McGovern-missed the entire season due to an injury. Team reportedly had a 2nd rd grade on him. Has starting experience at both Guard and Center. Considered more of a power player.

Biadasz-dropped in the draft due to injury concerns. He says he fully healthy, if competition is close, the team may decide to go his direction.

Connor Williams-most believe he was a draft bust, but has gotten better with more experience. The new blocking scheme should suit Williams very well.

I don't think the team will start two rookies inside (McGovern has yet to play a single snap). Looney has the most experience at the Center spot and should be the favorite to win the job. He could serve as a bridge starter until Biadasz is ready.

I feel the competition of left guard will be between the two Conner's. Can Conner Williams hold off McGovern for stealing his starting spot?

I think Williams reclaims LG starting role and Center will be a battle between McGovern and Biadasz. Biadasz may have the advantage because of the amount of experience at that position but McGovern played Center for a year at Penn State.

Romo said in his 2016 speech that football is a meritocracy to explain why he was "cool with" Prescott keeping the starting QB job.

May the best man win the jobs inside. This may be the most fair competition in the last 10 years since McCarthy has no true allegiance to anyone. Even the players drafted a month ago.

I agree, least likely to have two rookies starting inside. However, if the competition is close, they may elect to start the younger player.

Connor Williams, I believe, is the starter at LT when Tyron steps down. In the near future I see the OL

LT: Williams
LG: McGovern
C: Biadasz
RG: Martin
RT: Collins

For this year I think it goes

LT: Smith
LG: Williams
C: Biadasz, might not start until the second month
RG: Martin
RT: Collins

You see Connor Williams as our future starting LT?

Are you a glass is empty and just shattered and a shard just sliced open my jugular vein type of guy?

That’s what camp is for
But who knows how camp will go this year
I believe by changing HC we get an extra week if things for on schedule
But I’d be somewhat surprised if looney doesn’t start at center
He played pretty solid when Fred was out
Smith
Connor
Looney
Martin
Collins
Is my guess to start the season

I dont know about connor William's as a guard right now or mcgovern. I think if he's going to be good it should be this season. It took Lael Collins a few seasons and he was one of the top tackles in the league. Maybe Williams will improve enough to be very good.
I personally would like to sign Larry Warford . This guy is a mover and would help Zeke have the best line he has ever had. Leary was good but Warford would be an upgrade on him. He is only seeking 7 mill per season.

He is a three time pro bowler and it was the last three seasons. I really feel like his presence on this team would make the run game firstly and the offense unstoppable. The offense would be able to do what ever it wants whenever it wants. I feel Warford adds a whole game more to the win column. Zeke gets 1600 plus with this guy here.
Smith-Warford-Looney/Biadez-Martin -Collins
Wed kill everybody with a line like that

Depending upon his recovering health, i believe they are gonna give Tyler Biadasz every bit an opportunity to be the starting center.
He is not only a pure center pivot but he is also a highly rated center prospect.
i like and prefer going in with a regarded prospect who excelled at one position
His football IQ and accomplished skill set is gonna have him hitting the ground running as he gets adjusted to the NFL.
But i'm interested to know if he is expected to be fully recovered after playing back from hip/shoulder surgeries.

- Overall Looney was fine as a replacement for Travis in 2018, He remained surprisingly durable and adequate for the most
part. Occasionally he wasn't always perfect as getting out on the middle LB, and there were only a couple of times he was slow to adjust to stunts
and twists that was confusing to rookie Williams - and having mishap ex-OL coach Paul Alexander certainly didn't help matters.
But majority time he performed adequately, including QB shotgun snaps.
It was only against the likes of Ndamukong Suh in Rams playoff game where you can tell he was completely overwhelmed.

- Frankly i dunno know about the propensity and thought process of new OL coach Joe Phillin as compared to departed Marc Columbo, who admittedly
i still have regrets about us letting him go, But nowadays teams ask more from OL coaches than just duties to the OL unit.
They are also very heavily involved and demanded in the run game scheme. So between possible new starters in the OL unit, a new OL coach
and new OL and run game scheme and past familiarity with new current HC McCarthy, the dynamics came to change in the direction of the
OL unit.

- McGovern is considered a more power based OG than Williams, who is the more athletic of the two Conners, interesting enough we have two
Connors that have versatility to play more than one position. And one of those Connors will end up being a key backup.
i think many peg McGovern as a starter because they want to believe he has more to offer than Williams who early has struggled with power
and recently with mental mistakes. And frankly if you're picking an OL guy that high, you expect eventual pro bowl aspirations.
My only concern with Williams is he has missed time in his last 2 years with knee injuries, including a season ending one in '19.

- Another great element is the overall depth of our OL , we will have one of the Conners as a backup interior.
We have looney as a backup center. Even vet utility guy Cam Irving can play some OG in a pinch.
Remains to be seen if this new coaching regime remains big on reserves Brandon Knight OG/OT) and Andy Redmon (C) as the previous coaching was.

Even at this point in developments, one can agree that this offensive positional group:

1. Has very good depth
2. Is youthful in overall projections
3. There are multiple positions that can be supported by many of these linemen
4. There will be much improved play over a short period of time (1 - 2 seasons)

It's still obviously too early to tell but my best guess is:

OC
: Connor Williams
LG: Connor McGovern

Game Day Roster: 1. Collins 2.Martin 3.Williams 4.McGovern 5.Smith 6.Knight 7. Erving 8.Looney

*Biadasz a healthy scratch

-I believe Columbo had the lineman playing more of a man blocking scheme. It is my understanding that Philbin runs more of a Zone Blocking Scheme. I believe the ZBS will benefit Connor Williams more so then a Connor McGovern.

-In my opinion, there are many quality options within the interior, depth should be very strong in this area. Backup Tackle is more worrisome.
