Technically, anything would qualify as "more disguise pre-snap" . The last staff basically announced their coverage before every play. Jeff Heath in single high coverage still gives me nightmares.

Love more Cover 3 and man-to-man; that was what we were supposed to be getting when Kris Richard came in to update Marinelli's dinosaur scheme. Diggs, Robinson, and possibly Worley were built for this. Awuzie has a chance to shine as well, especially if Al Harris can get him to use his physicality at the LOS.

What is a scheme? How do you disguise? These terms are foreign to me.
Marinelli learned disguise from the Master.

Let's hope the players perform what those virtual meetings call for.:thumbup:

If they can manage that, this upcoming season should be delightful! :)

The proof is in the pudding. We shall see how Marinelli's Oakland defense and Garrett's NYG offense do this year. That will tell us all we need to know to make a determination of fault. I seriously doubt Marinelli and Garrett will change stripes all of the sudden. I doubt McCarthy will continue the previous offensive and defensive philosophy.

“Scheme wasnt the problem here in Dallas” - Clueless CZ Posters

:laugh::laugh::laugh:
I disagree.

You can say the lack of turnovers was the problem. But disguising your coverages and mixing in different coverages can lead to turnovers. Our bend but don't break scheme didn't allow for aggressive play underneath where most of your interceptions come from. So getting turnovers were a problem because of the scheme.

You can say execution was the problem. But when teams know exactly what you are doing on defense it makes it easier to exploit your weaknesses. And if you are relying on your players to be better than their players there's a 50/50 chance of losing that gamble.

Not to mention Marinelli wanted DT's that could get after the QB knowing those guys don't stand up good against run first teams. One might not think this Marinelli concept as being part of a scheme, but deploying ideas is the definition of scheme.

This fan still awaits walk - throughs. Easier identification through training, for the younger players.

This defense is going to be completely confused on the field, going from simple single disguises to the whole playbook thrown at them. Hopefully they pick up on it sooner than later, don't want to see struggles for most of the season

even if the Defense is not great overall it would ok if they can get the turnovers to atleast the top 10 in the league, our offense last year had to slog through the worst starting position in the league.
Little things and timing are so big
A turn over, a 3rd down sacks
Those things help the offense
It’s hard to drive 80 yards all day every Sunday on every drive
