The Wrong Missy on Netflix. Super stupid and super funny old school comedy with David Spade and Lauren Lapkus. There's a lot of familiar faces in it and it's worth a watch.
I wonder how much of that was just turning her loose? One of the ways I judge a comedy is the number of rewinds and I did at least 4 in that one. Agree with stupid and funny and sometimes I just need both.

Watched Seinfeld's latest stand up, Netflix, and it was good. He's still sharp and spry at 65 and kicking off that the way he did was really inventive.

I agree. I was not a Seinfeld fan back in the day and only watched a few times. (The kramer driving horse carriage was an epic eppisode tho). I put this show on with a "yea, ok make me laugh attitude and he did, a lot". I found the bits hilarious. You have no idea how many times my wife says "The Air is on Me" That by itself was enough to get five stars from me. I recommended it to my son who sent me a text and said he did NOT like it. Maybe it is just for old people. I dont know.

I’m not one to recommend much of what Amazon puts out, but I started ZeroZeroZero this morning and can’t put it down. Into ep3 now and I’m still thinking this series has something.

We shall see.

Pretty good show. I put it between Voyager and TNG, personally. The lead actress is incredible, IMO.

Not much humor in this show. Little with the red headed cadet. However nothing compared to the other star treks...and I think it is better for it.

Still have a bit of the second season to finish.

I found the characters in S2 more likeable.

CBS has approved another new Star Trek series for Captain Pike. Really looking forward to that. As for Discovery, not sure when the new season 3 is to be released. Maybe sometime in June.

Going to differ here. Watched Seinfeld on Netflix. Not good. We saw him live in Vegas in 2005-2006 range and it was so sharp and like the show. I thought this was forced. My wife and I both said we thought it was like 65 Jerry imitating old Jerry with the voice. Maybe 2-3 jokes hit but it was rich guy with a beef who hated his wife mostly.

On things I did like....Man on a Ledge on Amazon Prime. Gets 35% on Rotten but what do people expect. It was tense, unbelievable and fun. Popcorn movie.

Ozark update. Finished Season 2 and I don't like it any better because of the writing and acting. Bateman just played it stone face and Linney wasn't much better. The other thing I noticed is that this is the ugliest cast since "The Hills Have Eyes" I and II is a tie because they didn't kill off enough in I. Even the strippers are butt ugly, strippers!! Who in the hell selects strippers uglier than the regular actors. Trying to make them look better? Didn't work. Most are mediocre actors so you would think they'd at least get a little eye candy but no.

OK, I've been in the Ozarks and it can get like "Deliverance", after all the pretty people went to bed, but it's not that bad.

I would seldom spend this amount of time waiting for something to reward me but this never delivered and I won't go any further because I don't care what happens to any of them.

Anson Mount's Captain Pike is one of the best characters to ever come out of Star Trek. He stands up there with some of the best Captains. (which all have been very good to great)

I'm ecstatic they are making a new series with him and Spock. (Ethan Peck)

I posted this in another thread, but this is the proper thread.

There is a new show on Netflix called Magic for Humans. This show has made me laugh a lot more than most shows. I recommend catching a couple of episodes.

Absolutely, he played a great Pike! I kinda wish they hadn't used footage from the original. It wasn't done well enough, IMO.

I agree, He does a good Job.

Did not know they were going to make a series with Pike and Spock.

Is that one going to be on CBS as well?

Also did you watch the Picard series and if so how did you like it.

I am almost down with season two of discovery and will look to watch the Picard series.

Oh, Picard is the best one so far, IMO. There were times I forgot I was watching a series, because the cinematography, casting, and music is so good.

Yes, I believe they are going to put it on CBS All-Access also, but just FYI. CBS is about to expand / rename CBS All-Access. They own a TON of content that isn't *just CBS* as you would normally think and they are going to blend all of it onto a new mega version of whatever CBS All-Access becomes.

I did watch Picard. My thoughts?
  • Picard definitely looks older and it's an odd perception when you first start watching it.
  • Picard starts out VERY slowly. It doesn't pick up until around the middle of the series, but definitely gets better as it goes.
  • Data, Riker, Troi, and Seven of Nine make appearances in Picard.
  • For season 2 of Picard, I hear Guinan will be returning also.
  • I was initially a little put off when Picard started, (so painfully slow) but overall I am pretty happy with it progressed and ended.
  • I feel they did good work and created some very good characters for Picard. Star Trek has always been good about their character creation for the most part though.

Season three of Discovery should start very soon. It was delayed due to this Coronavirus stuff, but my understanding is it could be out sometime in June. Better binge watch Picard just in time for Discovery season three!

My library is finally doing curbside pickup of materials that were on the hold shelf when they closed, so I was able to get Yellowstone.

It's definitely not a feel-good story. Lots of violence and death and murder and human branding and political manipulations and coverups. And that was just the first 3 episodes. So far there is no good guy.

It's well written and well acted, and interesting. I'll keep watching.

Did you watch the "Ready Room" after each episode, in which Wil Wheaton interviews producers and cast members, etc.? He's an absolute dork, but he's a pretty good interviewer, and asks very good questions.
