Being anti overpaying for an average QB isnt anti dak. I like dak on his rookie deal. I like dak for 75 over 5 years... I just dont like dak at top 5 qb money only because his play doesnt reflect the pay.
LOL...…..nobody likes paying Dak top 5 numbers. lol

Talk about a redundant statement!!!!!

However your claim that he is average is so yesterdays news. We have all gotten past how stupid that assessment is. Even the staunchest Dak trolls are up to: "Dak is slightly better than average".

At least get up with the times on your troll buddies if you are going to be a troll.

This is a joke, right?

Top 5?

Your generous offer of 15m Per year would Dak the lowest paid starting QB not on a rookie deal.

Your entire argument Is Dak hate. There’s no other way to describe it.

So, I look at life this way: If Dak knows he's going to eventually close the deal by the July date and the Cowboys FO know they're going to close the deal by said date, CLOSE THE STUPID DEAL NOW! Dak needs to be spending as much time as possible with the new coaches, FA's and rookies. This has really started to turn a lot of people off, even this die-hard fan. Message to both sides: Get your poopoo together and finalize this deal!
There no real sense of urgency because, right now, nothing is actually urgent.

There are no OTA’s, QB camp or meetings. It’s unlikely there is a training camp. There might not even be a season if there’s a second wave of Covid-19 (and a second wave is almost a scientific certainty) that closes the country again.

I want him signed just so we can all be put out of our misery but this offseason is so different that there is almost no reason whatsoever to get a deal done until 7/15 unless we’re just looking for a positive PR pop from the team.

Let's forget these twitter reports and deal with reality.

1. After 4 years we are no closer to Superbowl.
2. Both Goff and Wentz made a Superbowl run.
3. Big Mike took 2 weeks to call Dak.
4. Big Mike called Dalton upon his release and he signed for kicker money??? Yes this leaves a lot of room to ponder why?
5. Jerry pays and pays big but in Prescott's case nada so far even though everyone under the sun from Coop to Zeke has been paid.
6. At this point a mega-deal is for the Dak dreamers here in the CZ as all indications show the Tag will be his best-case scenario if it's not rescinded.
7. Since 2017 its been all downhill with the cherry on the cake is the last game in Philly where Dak verified he just doesn't have what it takes to start in the NFL.
8. Be ready for a Dalton move during the season to start or come in like Romo did when Bledsoe was our starter.

I leave you with this....how much more disrespect do they have to show Dak for some of you here to comprehend he is not considered anymore the future for us at QB.
Sell crazy as its a free country but so far Jerry and Sons isn't listening....
THE STAR ABOVE ALL INCLUDING DAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wentz did not run anything. Nick Foles made a Super Bowl run

This is the same Chris Simms who lied about the Seahawks looking to trade Russell Wilson back in 2018.

Yeah, one can easily decide who to believe: Rapoport or lying Chris Simms.

LOL, just stop it
Earlier this week Wingo mentioned on Mike and Mike that he had heard from multiple sources that the Seahawks wanted to trade Wilson to the Browns in 2018

give it a rest

Dak has received much criticism during these negotiations. Yet, he has probably been the least involved.

Dak has always said, as far back as two years ago, that he wasn't going to be involved, that all his focus was dedicated to being the best quarterback possible.

I haven't heard anything from Dak's agent, no interviews, statements or remarks about his perception on how the negotiating is progressing. All the information we have received about the negotiating is completely one sided. Despite any remarks to the contrary the Jones's are using the media to propogandise the negotiations.

"A Dallas Cowboys Exclusive As COO Stephen Jones Talks With CowboysSI.com On The Subject of Contract Negotiations With QB Dak Prescott, 'Acrimony' & 'The Pie'"

“Dak, obviously, is the elephant in the room’’

“It’s a zero sum game for Jerry and I. We’re just dividing up cap space. Whatever we do here is just a matter of how much we want to allocate to one player.’’

" I think we are fast approaching an agreement . . . That might be my opinion. It might not be Dak’s opinion.”

“So, the only thing we need him to do is work with us a little bit, and I understand because it’s his money and easy for someone else to say. But the only reason we’re having a negotiation is to talk him into all the reasons as to why it’s good to have a supporting cast around him. Other than that, it would be really easy to write the check."

So many quotes for the media and fans to ponder. Has anybody seen a well distributed quote by Dak or his agent concerning any contract details?

Dak isn't the one playing games, he's the one keeping it professional, private for now, and businesslike between himself and the Cowboy management. Cowboy management could have reciprocated by answering media questions with a single, constant statement:

"We have nothing to announce at this time. When we do, you will be informed"

I guess you forget the multitude of anti-front office comments posted on this board. BOTH sides are taking a beating. And, to add insult to injury, you have commentators like Florio who have sided with Dak. BOTH sides need to get this stuff settled. Again, I've been a die-hard fan since 1962 and I'm getting sick of it.

You were wrong
Simms was and is right
Nope. Big difference between "could trade" and "want to trade".

You're wrong just like Simms.

Here’s the exact quote from Chris Simms, a former quarterback who is now affiliated with ProFootballTalk.com, which caused the first ripple.

“I had heard a rumor from some people I trusted a few years ago,” Simms said, “that Seattle called Cleveland when (the Browns) had the No. 1 pick and there was this rumor going around the NFL that they offered Russell Wilson to the Browns for the No. 1 pick that year.”

Without pausing, here’s what Simms said next: “I never followed up, but I just know that I had people telling me that was something people were hearing. But now we’re two years down the road, three years down the road and I think the Seahawks have totally flipped the organization to where it is all about Russell Wilson to where he was untradable now and I think he was even then.”

Yeah...nothing but a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors that Chris Simms didn't even take serious enough to look into. Also, if the Seahawks seriously were looking to trade Russell Wilson back in 2018, why did they make him the highest paid QB throughout the league AND INCLUDE A NO-TRADE CLAUSE in his new monster contract????

Like I said, YOU and Chris Simms are wrong. FAKE NEWS!

The point is you have heard nothing from Dak or his agent. Of course media and fans are going to say something, thats what they do unless they are given nothing to talk about.

The other point was Cowboys management gave us all something to talk about and they knew from experience that it might form strong public reaction in their favor. L

Hey, I love them too! Where they are best suited - as a back up.

Anyone truly believing Dalton is better needs to seek a psychologist. Better yet, a psychiatrist because they're gonna need some medication.

But a real, logical fan would be ecstatic for having a top 10 and very good QB and arguably the best back up in the NFL.
Most Dak Haters are every day fans whom we probably agree with most stuff.

But Dak Hating has evolved into using Pro Bowl QB skill dog and pony show as a accuracy skill eye test.

Dak Haters brains are void of logic.

Dalton has 118 Career INTs. 14 Career Pick 6s. Yet somehow how this translated into carrying the defense and Bengals.

These folks are trolls.

Dalton is a great backup but trust me if faces Sweat, Chase, Allen and Eagles twice a year. We be picking Lawrence or Fields next year....that is the plan.

I don't care to be right. I'm simply stating word for word what Simms said at the time and how he didn't even take the time to substantiate such a ridiculous rumor. I wonder why?

What's right is that Dak is soon going to be a very wealthy player and franchise QB for the Dallas Cowboys for many years to come!

How's that?

I don't know that and you don't that. What we do is that they have been negotiating on a contract since before last season and don't have anything to show for it.

For all we know the discussions behind the scenes have shifted to how the team moves on without Dak and Dalton may be a contingency band aid.

I'm not sure you're correct as these leaks are coming from somewhere. Where do you think Florio's "they should have already paid him" mentality comes from? Both sides are at fault here, for different reasons. And I'm sick of being considered a "Dak hater" for raising concerns about his contract and negotiating style. I just want this to get finished. We have a lot to be happy about, let's not have it ruined by two bulls in a closet.
