First off if Dalton is starting that means Dak is not getting paid. I'm fine with that because he is greedy. Neither guy is ever gonna win you a SB. Dalton didn't win any playoff games and Dak won one. I think Dalton with this supporting cast can do pretty much as well as Dak except for the running. Dalton is gonna be more accurate throwing screens and shorter routes too.
NO he could hold out... this could get ugly:rolleyes:o_O

For me, it's a no-brainer.

Dalton took his Bengals to the playoffs 4 times in a tough AFC North featuring the Ravens and Steelers. That is no mean feat. He also has several more years of experience under his belt than Dak.

And even when not in playoff contention, who can forget when he converted that 4th-and-12 with a bullet touchdown pass with less than a minute remaining in regulation to eliminate the Ravens from a playoff spot in the 2017 season finale. Grateful Bills fans donated $200,000 to the Andy Dalton Foundation.

LOL nice try! Too bad your dishonesty got the best of you.

Dak didn’t have Witten or Cobb in 2018, and Gallup was a rookie in 2018 who made a huge leap in 2019.

“DURRRRR SAME TEAM MINUS COOPER!!”

Nope.

Dak went 3-4 with average stats until Cooper showed up. Dalton was 2-11 last season with terrible stats.

I’m so sorry that you took the time to skew reality and still fell flat on your face. Dak’s easily better than Dalton, hence their salaries.

That 2018 Cowboys team was still leagues better than the 2019 Bengals team and it’s not even close, you know that. Gallup was a rookie and no Cobb or Witten. OK. But they still had Zeke and that offensive line.

Not skewing facts - I laid them out right in front of you. Dalton has never had an offensive line or offensive weapons like he’ll have in Dallas.

The only counterpoint might be the “past his prime” argument.

Yeah I’m not voting..

Player for player then of course I take Dak.

Contract factored in then of course I take Dalton.

Contracts factor in with you which means if you were putting together a team you would have an average QB on a very reasonable team friendly deal or a QB playing on their rookie contract.

Voted Dak because he's not in his prime yet (hopefully) and he could be a top tier QB in 3 years all things considered.

Dallas’ OL was league average that year.

Even if you account for that, 2018 Dak outplayed 2019 Dalton by a country mile. The discrepancy in supporting casts don’t absolve Dalton of his vastly inferior play.

These excuses are adorable. I wonder if David Klingler still cries about how he could’ve been a Hall of Famer if only he had Troy Aikman’s supporting cast.

The results are what they are. That’s why Dak will make more than 10 times what Dalton will make in 2020.

I voted for Dak, but Im betting those voting for Dalton are thinking along these lines....though it wasn't included in the question.

That doesn't make any sense either. Andy Dalton's starting salary will begin at Tannehill...who is making 30m a year. This nonsense that Dalton is going to play for 3m is so crazy you just have to laugh...

So no it is not Dak at 35 or 45 million vs Dalton at 3 million...
It is Dak at 35 million or Dalton at 30 million (maybe).

Dalton.. for those slamming him it just shows you don't watch anything outside the Cowboys 'bubble'. Bengals never had an Oline even close to approaching ours.. thin at receiver.. competent at RB but certainly not top 2 level Zeke.. and Dalton played in a seriously TOUGH division.. and still got the Bengals to the playoffs multiple years in a row.

Yes he completed less % of his passes... because unlike Dak he actually had to work for a living. Dak racks up his completed passes stat in junk time or by dropping short passes to open guys because the defence is stacked on zeke.. or they don't have enough weapons on D to cover Gallop, Cobb, Cooper et al.

I'd actually love to see some competition at QB spot.. Dak NEVER had to fight for his spot.. never had to actually compete for it.. got gifted to him and then the carrot (which we all knew to be an idiot and now has been proven by multiple reports after his leaving) kept him in and deliberately didn't want competition as he thought it was affect Daks confidence. How idiotic and stupid and not surprising we now have a middle rung QB demanding the biggest contract in NFL history. SMH

Put Dalton on the 2017-19 Cowboys and he would have very similar stats and we make playoffs for sure.

Dalton has earned his money and comes across as a stand up guy. If he happened to play next season for $3 million base then I could see him signing with the Cowboys for around $15-$20 million a season thereafter to stay in the family home nearby and a SB quality roster. He wouldn't be looking for $45 million like Prescott.

We are so close to clearing the decks. Dalton for the next two seasons, drafting a rookie QB in the first round next season. The issue is trying to get a second rounder for dumping Prescott.

Yet I expect the front office to miss this opportunity to blow their nose and move on.

You’re right, I enjoy publicly shaming you.

Just like Dak’s strong play has shamed you into silence.

I challenge you to answer this question: if Dak and Dalton had identical contracts, which QB would you want to start for the Cowboys?

I bet you won’t answer. The feelings of shame and embarrassment are too strong.
The fact that your even asking that question, is more of an indictment on Dak then its is on Dalton.
Everyone knows who Dalton is, even more importantly, so does Dalton.

It’s an indictment on the anti-Dak mouth-breathers who think Dalton is as good or better than Dak.

You may think everyone here would take Dak over Dalton if their salaries were equal, and you’d be wrong. Not everyone has an IQ above 80.

Ask @jnday or @PAPPYDOG or @WillieBeamen which QB they’d prefer even if their salaries were identical.

Everyone likes to compare numbers but not what each QB had to work with. Dak was in a far superior offense and it's not even close. Bengals are an even more clueless organization than Jerry and Company, and that's a pretty tall order. I just don't think Dak is worth the price tag at this point and that Dalton can win games here for far less. Just like I don't think Goff and Wentz are worth their price tags. Since those 2 organizations set "market value"? But on the flip side if Dak gets paid, there will be no competition. But I would definitely be all for it.

Delusional and can't even read. Jesus. The report is NOT EVEN REAL. Even if both Dak and the Cowboys didn't contradict it and it was accurate, you still would be misquoting want Dak is seeking.

Yes, I too could see Mahomes demanding to play for his hometown Cowboys prior to the beginning of the season and requesting a trade. And then taking $5 million a year as compensation for the privilege of being QB of Dallas.

Was Tony Romo a stand up guy? He certainly earned a crap ton of money when he executed a contract that made him the highest paid QB in the NFL at the time.

It has been reported that Prescott is asking for $45 million in the 5th year of a 5 year contract.

What on earth has Patrick Mahomes got to do with this!?

Tony Romo comes across well from what I have seen and read about him but I have never met him. Didn't he restructure contracts so that they were made up of bonuses to assist with the salary cap? His level was worthy of League MVP in 2014 before injuries curtailed his career.
