Oh the Chutch days

I maintain any Cowboys fan who believes we have it bad with Dak, especially those under the age of 25 or so, should be forced to watch the 2001 through 2004 Cowboys on a continuous loop until Prescott signs his new deal. Watching 35 year old Drew Bledsoe when he got here in 2005 was like a miracle from on high, that’s how bad things had gotten.

If you didn’t endure it, you just have no idea. At times it made the 2015 QB play seem tolerable by comparison.
Being humble has never been a virtue for us.

Quincy Carter?

Chad Hutchison?

Oh yeah..Campo?

Them were the Inglorious ******* years.

Cowboy fans will never realize how truly talented Galloway was due to him being coupled with Quincy Carter, Henson, et cetera.

I guess that makes me the exception. Galloway played high school ball an hour away from where I lived at the time and attended the same university as me. Had the Cowboys acquired him in 1995 rather than in 2000 he would've been a monster, playing with Aikman and opposite Irvin.

I was at that game.

I called the Galloway TD before it happened based on the coverage Seattle was playing.. The people around me looked at me like I was a wizard lol.

Roy and Darren Woodson were absolutely head hunting in that game.

When Emmitt broke the record it was just awesome.. Some guy behind me was like could you please sit down we can't see while 90K people were standing and applauding for Emmitt. Unfortunately I still think of that when I think of Emmitt breaking the record.

We lost.

Emmitt gave an amazing speech after the game.

It was an awesome day and I really enjoyed it.. Just wish we had won.

After leaving Dallas, Galloway had three straight 1,000+ yard seasons on Tampa Bay at 34-36 years old with QBs most people considered awful too. Playing on those 2001-2003 Cowboys offenses created a dead zone in the middle of his career. And it's not like those Bucs teams had elite (or even good, except for 2007) QB play.

Goes to show now next level broken the Dallas QB situation was between Aikman and Romo.

This game was played October 27, 2002.

Apparently, Redball isn't the only one who is confused.

I didn't watch the game (at the time I did), I just couldn't remember what year Emmitt broke the record. I just knew that Campo wasn't the coach until 2000

It's also Chad Hutchinson's first start. Yikes. :muttley:

That game wasn't televised in my world so all I saw were the highlights. Run Emmitt, run.

Filip Filipovic? He's punting for the Cowboys. I'm surprised I don't remember that name.

Moose is doing commentary with Summerall. Nice.

Darren Woodson became the Cowboys all-time leading tackler in this game as well, passing Lee Roy Jordan.
I was at that game.

Damn. The Cowboys sure did suck then. Hard to watch that game even with Emmitt. So sad about Walter. Loved him.

Me and my brother use to pick one Cowboy game a year to attend and that year we were trying to guess which one Emmitt would break the record.

Well, we nailed it but it just felt so anticlimactic after the game because we lost.

I also, accidentally got roped into going to Nolan Ryan's 7th no hitter. The electricity from the 6th inning on was unreal.

Almost makes you wonder what the hell Jerry was thinking with this personnel he trotted out onto the field.

Larry Lacewell and Brian Broaddus were picking the players in the draft and free agency so that kind of speaks for itself.

2003 Quincy was much better than the qb play in 15 from weeden and cassel.

That 03 team came out of the gates playing well...some hiccups in the opener vs atlanta....quincy missed a wide open touchdown to Dan Campbell.

anyway it was funny to watch that 03 team early on....other teams played them based on a false stereotype associated with Parcells....that he just wanted to run the ball 50 times a game. Teams came out to stop the run for the first 6 to 8 weeks and Parcells offense run by Maurice Carthon that year threw the ball out of three wide consistently.

by thanksgiving there were issues they could not hide anymore on the line and then teams decided to make dallas beat them running the ball and there was no chance of that. They basically got shut out at new england and at new orleans at the end of the year.

fun magical season though.

I believe one of the biggest reasons we lost was because Emmitt didn't get the ball enough.
