Not saying I'm opposed to adding him, just that the need changed some based on how it appears that we will be using our safeties. If we are going to be playing a lot of two-deep, I don't know if Adams is any better at that than Woods. Adams is at his best when he's playing the short zone and attacking the line of scrimmage.

Now, if Dallas got him and the coaches truly believe in fitting the system to the players instead of vice versa, there's no doubt the defense would be better playing to his strengths.

Just like Earl Thomas?

I mean, Earl Thomas didn’t have anything to do with Dak’s contract talks. We were also talking about a guy exiting his prime. If you want to believe for what ever reason Dak will be signed go ahead. There are sooo many reasons for this hold up. I mean, it’s not like the two parties were like, hey, “mutual agreement, contract will be signed on July 15, 2020.”

Would you trade them Taco and Chaz Green?

How about Taco and Trysten Hill (a 2nd round pick) ?

Works both ways.
LOL wut?

Go back the last 10 drafts. Show me all of the 1st and 3rd round picks this team has made.

7 out of those 10 drafts, I wouldnt make the trade if we were simply swapping our first rounder for Prez

2010- Dez (nope)

2011- Tyron (hell no)

2012- Claiborne (hell yes)

2013- Frederick (nope)

2014- Martin (hell no)

2015- Byron (yea)

2016- Zeke (nope)

2017- Taco (LOL)

2018- LVE (yea)

2019- Cooper (nope)

2020- Lamb (nope)

Team hit on 8 out of 10 of these first rounders (Lamb TBD), but you want to use the anomaly of Taco to prove a point. LOL

I'll make any bet you want to that he'll be signed. The main stumbling block is that Dallas want him to sign for longer.

lol. Ok man. The bet shouldn’t be against me. We all have been given numerous reasons for this hold up. I get it, when it comes to Dak, the glass is damn near overflowing.

You're not considering the known commodity you are acquiring versus the possibility of draft success.

Trades are risky in general but you are acquiring a sure thing in All-Pro and defensive leader in Jamal Adams versus a giant variable 11 months from now.

I love the draft, probably more than any poster on this forum (unless Gil Brandt posts here). I love winning more. Jamal Adams helps us win right now and again in 2021. The 2021 1st round pick mostly likely doesn't impact wins until mid 2021, if we're lucky and hit on him.

he seems like a perfect player for the eagles. Could slide into jenkins role.

well with the comp picks Dallas would really just be giving up a first because they will have another third if I remember correctly.

However. This would make the team really top heavy and if you dump a first and a third for adams and pay him that is screaming we are trying to win in the next 2 to 3 years because after that we might have issues roster wise. A first and two third round draft picks will really help alleviate cap issues in the next 5 years. I think that is the trade off....going for it now and accepting the coming issues in 3 years or staying the course and building with the draft.

How credible is this guy

He is obsessed with the cowboys. He used to write here in town in the 90's hey day and left for NY later in the 90s. He has written I believe two books on the cowboys and the last one was mostly nonsense. I skipped around reading it in the book store a few years ago and it was like all the twitter level type rumor stuff you hear. He wrote that Parcells retired because Romo fumbled the snap (which is why you see people saying that all the time now) and its false and he knows it but it was a juicy story. He understands what parcells meant about going through the process of an offseason and camp before a season even starts but chose to write nonsense instead.

anyway. He has been around forever as a writer and a former contributor to Inside the NFL on HBO when it was an excellent show to watch.

He is also one of the guys that loved to bash romo 24x7. He is one of the people that helped promote the false story of "Jerry putting NFC Championship tickets in each locker" before the 07 giants playoff game. He wrote about Jessica simpson and that type of stuff all the time.

Yeah there is no way we are giving up 1st Rd pick for Adams ,Jerry doesnt want to sit out the 1st RD of the draft again although 2021 will be a perfect year not to have a 1st RD pick as College football will most likely be cancelled and you wont have tape on a lot of players.
No way college fball is cancelled this fall - this stupid virus is going to disappear like the flu once the hot weather hits.
