To be fair, RG3 does still have a career, but just as a backup. When the Commanders drafted him, he was considered a top prospect to become elite. They traded up to get him. In his first year, it looked like they had struck gold and would be worth their trade-up and the money. He was amazing in his rookie year. But it was all downhill from there. I know he was injured and needed to recover from that, but I was expecting him to heal up and then get back to his old self. Instead, he was replaced by Kirk Cousins, who was drafted much lower (in the 3rd or 4th round, I forget which).
So RG3 went on to Cleveland and the Baltimore and just hasn't been the same. He's now a journeyman backup. What happened? Was his first year just a fluke?
