If Dallas wouldn't give a 1st and 3rd last year when Adams was younger and cheaper and the Jets had more leverage..... why would they do it now?

The price for Adams is going down, not up.
It's only going down in the regard that Dallas can trade 2021 currency for him instead of that of 2020.

If the Jets took the offer last year they'd have had Lamb.

No telling where next years 1st may land and who it may be.

Theres absolutely no comparison between Adams and whoever can be drafted in the late first of any draft. It's a matter of what else they have to include and the idea that they have to pay Adams now.

Heres another fun one...

Let's say the league were to start over and hold a draft of all its active players....

Jamal Adams would be taken LONG before Amari Cooper, and if you were fine dealing a one for him, you have to think about a one plus for Adams.

That's why I said to restructure one deal and get Dak signed. That should take care of this year. Frederick's money was on the books going forward and accounted for. Just give it to Adams and starting next year call it a wash. Simple.

Right, push cap into the future. That's a good plan. That's why we ended up still paying Romo up until this last season. I don't think you really understood what I posted. Fredrick's money, that can go to sign anybody, is less then a million dollars in this season. That's not going to get it done.

Guys talk on the record, off the record, on background and on deep background. You don't need to have a direct quote to use a source or source material - especially not with "insider" reporting.
Furthermore, you don't know the conversation Myers had with the source. Sometimes, sources use the reporter as much as a reporter uses the material from the source.

You could possibly get some to believe that if it wasn't for the fact that those "insiders" get things wrong as often or more than they get things right. All to often those "insiders" source is 2nd or 3rd hand information that turns out to be wrong. That's why smart people wait until there's a direct quote from someone actually involved in the situation before believing things. All to often, especially during the off season writers and insiders speculate on things just to get clicks on their articles to help their income and most of us are aware of this.

The same people that don't watch games that think Dalton is good, are the same people that don't think Adams is good

Dude is an elite defensive player. He's 24. We have trash at S. It's a no brainer

1st and C. Williams
This is a simple view because it ignores the reality that there is a contract problem with Adams. The Jets can't come to terms with him, and the Cowboys have too many other big contracts to lay out another one. So, no, it's not a no brainer.

Big yawn from me.

As long as it’s no more than a 2nd rounder then go ahead but we’re already paying too many positions that you don’t pay big money too.

Difference being, paying a safety would actually be worth it.

So if t. Frederick was still around we wouldn't be able to sign all these other players that are due contracts?

I'm saying you can't sign everyone, and if you try you will dig a hole and handcuff your team in the future. I suppose the team could find a way to sign Adams in the short term, but of course that's speculation since the Cowboys haven't tried and we don't know how that would go, but the reality is every player a fan wants isn't reasonable to acquire just because a fan wants it.

The SS is definitely a position of need for the Cowboys. If Jamal Adams can be signed, he makes an immediate impact on the quality of the defense. Far more than a first round pick next year.

They can actually get out four of those after 2021 season ( Coop, DLaw, Zeke and Jaylon )

Or, a first next year and a third in 2022. Who knows what it will take. The trick is to figure out how to afford his salary.

Restructures can get us there even without getting Dak's contract done.

I get what you're saying, but this is the bs that keep you chasing a ring, who gives a freak about the future, the future is now, at some point you have say **** and go for it. with the salary cap you're going to keep losing pieces and constantly trying to replace them. if you can add an immediate impact player , you do it.
