He is Dak, he is not trying to be Tom Brady. His goal is to surpass Brady, not be him

Dalton is good enough to perform at least on the same level or higher than Dak. Insurance for a Dak holdout might be the real reason Dalton was signed. What else could it be? Having a capable backup on the roster hasn't been a priority for how many years until now?

Dalton was a no brainer signing. He's making a pittance more than Cooper Freaking Rush was.

Yep I agree on the insurance policy and I do agree that with this coach and team, Dalton might be good for ten wins...
When a contract discussion has lasted this long, gone so public, and thus far required the tag...you have to hedge your bets as this could go sideways easily....really has the potential to get personal which means ugly which means they would never do a deal and the media will be right there providing pure speculation, projection, and gasoline for the fire...
So great FO move bringing in Dalton...could mean the diff between a lost season or not...

People are impatient. Dak doesn’t need to sign before July 15th. If he holds out past then, I’ll join Skip.

the problem is that he is delaying a process, since there is new training and a new system, he is behaving like a capricious child

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
Dalton could also lead the Patriots, Broncos, Browns, Dolphins, 49ers, Rams, Vikings, Bucs, Colts, etc... If Stephen A. Smith, was ever right about anything; it's the Dallas Cowboys fan base.

I have been a cowboy fan for ever and I am so so sick and tired of DAK thinking he deserves so much money like he is Tom Brady or better first he says he wants 35 million the cowboys say they will give him that so he is saying he wants 45 million he has not missed any games since becoming a starter but he is definitely not worth more the any other QB in the league!!!!

When Skip was talking about all of Daltons accomplishments and comparisons all I could think about was Dak is Dalton 2.0.
I find it laughable when people compare Dak to Brady or Rodgers because the perfect comparison for Dak would be Dalton or Keenum but these Dak lovers treat it like blasphemy.

This is true but also you are leaving out that the 11, 12 and 13 cowboys were rebuilding or retooling for the most part. That 2011 offensive line and then the injuries all year long to the running backs was really ridiculous. Dak has never had to deal with anything like that yet. Romo had a coach learning to be a coach and also trying to rebuild the roster and he started up front with the line.

go watch the week 17 game at NY in 2011. They couldn't block anybody. It was a free for all at times. Dak should be thankful he has never been through anything remotely close to that and I hope he never has to.
Good post, a lot seem to forget those years.
