There's actually nothing wrong with this thread being in the Fan Zone. I mean, he's only been retired a handful of years and is still relevant in the NFL.

Some fans just get agitated with anything Romo because they automatically see it as dissing Dak.

Some of us can appreciate both past and present players.

Yep he was so successful that he won all of 2 playoff games but that was the teams fault with him at the helm. Now the failures fall completely on the QB. If you want to find fault look no further than Carrot top and Jerry Jones in both QB cases.
Mainly coaching issues on both counts.

I was a big Romo fan too.

But I doubt it. Marinelli and the defense would have let him down. Just like the defense let
Him down for years and years.

Maybe but if you believe that the D would have let him down then how could you or anyone possibly believe that a rookie QB in 2016 (and i know he played well) do something that no rookie has done in the history of the NFL...which was win an NFL championship their rookie season or win the SB...made no sense then and it makes no sense when you look at it today. That offense in 2016 was built for Tony Romo not Dak Prescott it should have been given back to him and then after seeing what Dak was able to do when he was out if you want to make the decision to move on from Tony going into 2017, you do it, but when you are trying to win you always, always play your best players when they are healthy and Dak was not a better QB in 2016 than Romo

This is reasonable, unlike the Quincy Carter highlights......

All I’m saying is. There is no guarantee that the cowboys win the Super Bowl with Romo. Garrett and the defense have been letting us all down for over a decade. I doubt that changes in the 2016 playoffs just cuz.

Chances may have been higher with Romo. I’m not arguing that. But Romo was never the problem. Just like Dak isn’t the problem now.

So, now we know where your hatred of Dak stems from. Romo isn't even in the top 5 of Cowboys qbs. An overrated choke artist that all the beta males on this site get on their knees for.

We win the SB in 2016 if they give him his job back when healthy, at worst we get there

Romo wasn't making it a full season, and even if he did he's a proven choke artist in big games. You bow down him because it makes you feel better about your own inadequacies I guess.

Here's a Romo stat I always found interesting.

Romo never played in a game that Dallas was eliminated from playoff contention. He always played in a meaningful game.

Romo was trash and did eliminate us from playoff contention all on his own.

I've always liked Dak as an individual, good guy good head on his shoulders, i've just always thought he was a QB with average talent whose had the luxery of being surrounded by above average talent. The team Dak leads is stacked on offense again this season only i think our schedule is going to be tougher this year than last year because i think our division has improved, if the best we could do last season was a mediocre 8-8 i can't see us doing anything better than that this season 7-9 to 9-7. Opposing teams are really not afraid of Dak beating them, they never have been and until he can prove otherwise we are really not going to be any better than we have been. Just my opinion and i hope i'm wrong because if they give him the contract he wants with the type of guarantees he wants we will be stuck for the next 4 years with an offense that will be moving into rebuild mode after this season and we really won't have the money we need to address the problems, and i don't think we have a QB in Dak who can hide those problems. It will get even uglier

Well there is always one guy who thinks Dak was a better QB than Romo as a rookie...dream on! And maybe Romo gets hurt again if he comes back and maybe he doesn't nobody knows, but what i do know is you play your best players when they are healthy if you are trying to win a SB , we did not do that in 2016. If you want to make an argument that Dak was a better QB in 2016 than Romo have at it, I'll be more than happy to chop that little fantasy of yours into a million little pieces, and none of that is to say that Dak didn't have a great rookie campaign...HE DID! But he still wasn't a better QB than Romo back then and anyone with any kind of football knowledge will tell you that. So bring it on if you want, i'll be here
