Every team cares about the future. The Pats haven’t stayed viable for so many years by not caring about the future. And if a team wants to win it all, it’s best chance is to be in the chase year after year, not just one or two years and then start all over and suck for 5 years while dumping salary and rebuilding. .

When we do it we just remain mediocre and I would rather be awful then mediocre.

Eagles and Broncos went all in on FA and they won titles. Maybe we should take note.

The Rams also bought their way to a Super Bowl.

The fact that you think he has questionable coverage skills tells me all I need to know...your knowledge of this player is minimal
I live in NYC and have seen almost every game he has played in. He is excellent inside the box, but very average in coverage. Very much a similar player to Landon Collins when he played with the Giants.

I hope so. Bc woods isn't very good
Combination of HaHa and Adams would be dominant and allow for the whole defense to elevate thier game play.

I believe the combination of those 2 would greatly benefit our Linebackers. Combined with the editions of the DT's, it would be a dream come true.

I have been waiting for over 10 years for DT & Saftey to be addressed.

This is by biggest wet dream. But like every other Cowboy Wet Dream, Jerry has been able to screw it up.

(But this year feels different)

I met Jamal Adams and trumaine Johnson few months back in a restaurant in Dallas. Bought them a round of drinks. Told them that’s for soon being a Dallas cowboy. He said he can only dream that happens.

andddddd he gets traded to the ravens this week lol

I feel that same scenario happening.

He goes on to win DPOY and gets Lamar his ring.

And we come up short again

That's extremely wrong.

Couple thoughts:

1. If Dallas traded for Adams and signed him to a big extension, he immediately becomes the most likely candidate for lead dog on your defense. You could argue D Law, but IMO he is a beta. Adams is most definitely an alpha. Texas kid. All Pro. Born leader. Worth a 1st and 3rd? Debate-able. But you would definitely be getting more than just a talented safety.

2. This would be an “all in” move by Dallas. There are times when you have to take your shot. Are they a SB contender with the coaches they have added? The free agents and draft picks they have acquired? If you believe they are knocking on the door of making serious noise in the playoffs— then pushing all your chips into the pot for a guy like Adams makes sense. He is an elite player that (apparently) is available— doesn’t happen very often, and he would immediately add a lot to a defense that is being remolded.

Our offense looks great with a high ceiling. Our D looks to be improving, but landing Adams would be a huge piece that would go a long way towards solidifying the back end and giving the whole unit a stronger identity.

Yes, we would have a quieter offseason next year in terms of acquiring talent— but there are definitely times to go “all in”— I am good with that bold a move and price considering the coaches we have.

You have convinced me. Only thing is the Cowboys need to get Dak's deal done. Otherwise, we'll have given up a 1st round pick that we probably would need for a qb and the cap is gonna be slim to nil.

this has the look and feel of a fake story. Giving up premium draft picks with a new coaching regime in Dallas seems like a recipe for failure. Let MM pick the players and build the team. No dumb trades. NOW, if the asking price comes down a bit,MAYBE I pull the trigger.

I’d do it. We’re going to have two 3rd rounders this year anyway with the Byron comp
yes on the 3rd rounder, a big NO on a 1st. I would trade our 2021 2nd round pick and the 3rd...not a thing more. That's the going rate for a box safety.

HE AINT VERY GOOD IN COVERAGE. How many ints does he have and deflections? He does have lots of PI calls on him. He's a hitter..nice player and would love him. But not at the current price.

Not having Ints doesn't mean he isn't good in coverage..was Byron bad in coverage too?

No

Byron isn't the player Adams is to be clear..but ints DO MATTER when your giving up premium picks and contract money. In a passing league, ints mean everything now. Didn't use to..but now it does.

He doesn't get Ints. That's a different argument than being bad in coverage

2 ints, 25 PBUs, and 3 DPI in his 3 year career. Byron Jones the last 3 years? 1 pick, 25 PBUs, and 6 DPI. Byron must be worse in coverage by your standards.
