As far as I know he is still a free agent.

Last I heard he was open to coming back to the Cowboys.

Dallas would have some insane depth if he were to come back. Couldn't rely on him as a starter but having him on the roster as a back-up would be huge. And who knows, maybe he gets his old job back at LG and remains healthy for a good part of the season.

How do we make this happens as fans on the internet?

Why?

The Cowboys have more options at Interior OL than most other positions on the team.

Martin
Looney: Started all 16 and 2 playoff games for the 2018 season.
Connor Williams: Played well last season before the injury. Held his own vs Aaron Donald in the 2018 playoff game (one of Donald's worst games statistically).
McGovern: Did play in 2019 but should be ahead of where he would have been if he played as a rookie.
Cam Erving: Has literally played all 5 positions. Started 8 games for the Super Bowl champions last season.
Brandon Knight: Played ok in 1 start at RT as a rookie UDFA. Played more at OG in the preseason. Probably better at OG than OT.

As the OL stands right now, there is no need for this move. However, it would be the sneaky move should they be able to trade C Williams for a nice pick or in a package for someone like Adams.

Not really sure there's room. In addition to the five starters, presumed at the moment to be Smith, Williams, Looney, Martin and Collins, we've got Cam Irving, McGovern, Biadasz and Brandon Knight likely to make the team. That's nine linemen. Then, there's Adam Redmond, who the front office seems to like even though I can't see why.

I'm not opposed to Leary competing with those backups with best man winning, but most of them are young players who could be around to contribute for several years. I would have trouble cutting those young interior backups for an older vet unless they are just not very good.

Can't sign everyone, and they already have a lot of candidates on the roster.

Has Learys play really dropped off that much?

I cant say I watched Denver all that closely last year.

He would probably play for Dallas for cheap.

Sure, theres some depth inside, but I wouldnt mind trying to get maybe a 4th for Williams and bring a proven swing tackle in here.

Quick, need to sign him before the other 31 teams catch on and a bidding war erupts. Wait, Mick just called and asked why is he still available. So confusing.

He was a beast while he was here and our offensive line struggled when he left but at this point I think it’s time to see what we have in our young uns.

I hated to see him leave Dallas when he was playing at his best, but I suppose Free agency benefited him well in Denver.

That said, he was already playing on borrowed time while in Dallas due to his degenerate knee issue. Luckily for him, his knee held up long enough for a big pay day.. and good for him.

Unfortunately, it seems the knee concern has caught up to him. Even if he’s healthy, he won’t be able to move like he used too and get to his ‘second level’ blocking assignments. Appreciated his contributions while he was here, but that Lambo needs to stay parked in the garage.

That was the old regime. I prefer to see what these new coaches do with new talent.

I had heard that there was an offer out there for Leary to return, but that was before the Cam Erving signing. I think acquiring Erving closed the door on Leary coming back.

We need a LT honestly. Tyron is breaking down and has slowed.

lol ...funny how people keeping thinking he is still the same one year wonder he was in 2016.
And like the old days here , he is still a major question mark when it comes to health issues and staying healthy
hes' always hurt and we have an abundance of youth and talent already in the interior OL .
Including guys that can swing and play more than one positions.
We are not gonna be spending minimum of vet dollars on a guy that is gonna be that far back on the depth.

Cowboys have plenty of young inside depth but Leary's injury issues haven't been the degenerative knee. He's had back, achilles, and ankle issues.
