Hardy, Vanderjagt, Rivera, and Chris Warren all come to mind.

He doesn't touch some of the other names here but Nate Livings was given a big 5 year contract to solidify the OG position in 2012. He gutted out one season with injuries and retired.

Lots of good names posted. I would add Rocket Ismail. He played for the Raiders and Panthers but could never stay healthy. It's been reported that he was Dallas first round pick but he signed with the CFL He did have one good season for us but the injury bug hit him again and he was limited the next two, then he retired after signing a seven year deal. His last two years he started in 9 and 13 games.

Considering the investment, Joey Galloway hands down is #1. It did not work out for a variety of reasons. Torn ACL and then forced to play with a slew of inexperienced CFL caliber QBs.

For me in terms of just excitement as a fan, Quentin Coryatt delivered absolutely nothing as a FA acquisition in 1999. Fortunately, Darren Hambrick stepped in and played fairly well as a relatively unknown young player.

Wiley was a dud but I really had no expectations. He openly will admit now that he knew he was finished and came to Dallas just to collect a check.

Rivera easily. 5 years / 20 mil which at the time was the highest guard contract ever. Coming off 3 straight pro bowls in Green Bay to two back surgeries and two below average and injury ridden seasons in Dallas and then released.
Didn't he fall on a treadmill or something?

Some of the guys mentioned were draft picks, others were acquired through trades, they weren't FA's.

Barber, Galloway, Roy Williams jr.......not FA's

I think part of the criteria should include the size of the contract. technically, if you pay a guy 3 million forfor 2 seasons, it's a low end contract recognizing the risk.

What big contract guy stole money and hurt the cap?

I previously said Eddie George but I might go with Brandon Carr. like I said, consider the expectation when you consider a bust. Carr's contract told us everything we needed to know about expectation and he wasn't even close.
