Dlaw 11 sacks

Alden 8 sacks

Gregory 7 sacks

i'm really so interested to see how the DE rotation is gonna end up like - and how they go about what player gets a number of reps and snaps
DLaw will likely get bulk of course, and there will be times i can see them moving him inside as a nickel rush DT, that opens up time at
the edge for Alden, Gregory and rookie Anaes ... and although reason why i dont understand us going with an average pass rushing crawford at DE.

I'm taking the over.

Aldon is going to be huge for the dline and Dlaw will benefit with more one on one opportunities.

DLaw 15 sacks
Aldon Smith 12 sacks
I think Smith has been out of the game too long for him to ever get that much production. Skills diminish when not using them.

I'm real happy with us getting Aldon. The hiatus is bound to have an effect, but I'm hoping he's still a force to be reckoned with.

DLaw definitely had a down year in sacks, but he was all over the place making plays.

25 seems a bit steep. Do-able, but highly unlikely.

How about we up the total and talk about pressures as opposed to actual sacks?

Theres plenty of times when the DL gets there and the QB simply throws it away.

Theres times when grounding is called.

Theres also times in pure garbage time when a sack is recorded.

Very overrated how sacks affect the actual outcome of games...but I forgot in today's fantasy world that may not be true.

Lawrence 12 sacks
Smith 6 sacks
Kind of my thinking too
5 years is a lot of time away
But pressures are also important and I expect he will get pressure
A full off season and camp is what he needs bad

25 sacks between just those two? Big under. Move that marker to around 15 and I might consider the over. We haven’t even hit training camp and DLaw isn’t in a contract year pressure anymore (Hotboy turned cold once he secured his money).

Hard under.

1) Dude hasn’t played football in over half a decade.

2) He has a history of relapse and recidivism that pose serious questions about whether he’ll make it through an entire season.

3) He’s now close to 290lbs. I get that it’s not bad weight, but when he was getting a sack a game he was closer to 260. At this stage of his career he’s reshaped his body to be more of an edge setting base DE than a dynamic pass rusher.

This last point is something that far too many fans and media are overlooking. Defining success for Smith should probably be in the context of staying clean, staying out of jail, and becoming a quality backup for DeMarcus Lawrence at LDE — not whether he can start at RDE and generate 10+ sacks.

Based on what? The fact he had double digit sacks like 8 seasons ago?

It's really amazing to me that people don't think being out of football since Nov 2015 is going to have any effect on him.
Extended time off in Madden doesn’t effect players so.......
