Could 4 receiver be Dez?

DEPTH CHART: #4 receiver

I still believe Dez has value on the team given his sure hands and edge that will be needed to win in big moments. Too many drops last year to keep status quo, Dak ain’t losing $100,000 per drop.

This notion that he want play ST is irrelevant since the roster has been expanded to 55 on game day and practice squad players can be activated.

Another major change that will take an immediate effect from the new CBA is a new playoff structure that will include two more teams to the playoff field. A total of seven teams from each conference will make it to the postseason now.

And there will be more players to do so with. Though the roster limit will continue to be 53 for 2020, two players from the practice squad may be brought up to increase roster sizes to 55 on gameday, with those two players reverting back to the practice squad after gameday. Practice squads will also be increased in size from 10 players to 12 beginning this season.”

Why though? Dez is one of my favorite Cowboys of all time but I'm not even sure if he beats out Devin Smith, Cedrick Wilson, etc. at this point. I hope I'm wrong but I for sure don't want to see him brought in to camp just to get cut.

That his so damn disrespectful, the names you mentioned haven’t done jack poo when the opportunity was given too then and last time I checked they played on ST that ranked last.

Dez will easily beat them out.

Dak knows a real Dawg when he sees one, and he is a good trainer!

Doesn't matter what they've done. If we are talking about prime Dez then fine. But what on earth can a 32-33 year old Dez offer to a team that already has Lamb, Cooper and Gallup on it? At that point you are looking to surround those guys with speed. Not a possession receiver. It makes ZERO sense. You are talking with your heart.

“Unfortunately, Bryant has had issues with drops, dropping seven of those passes, tied for the fourth-most among wide receivers. His drop rate of 11.67 currently ranks 17th among 84 qualifying wide receivers.” At 29-years old, age and injuries appear to have taken their toll on the once elite receiver. Nov 30, 2017

This is from an article from Bryants performance the last time we saw him on the field...... with us.

Only two receivers had over 12% drops in his last year in the league, Dez Bryant was one, sure hands I don't think so! Dez isn't coming back, let it go!!!

Yes a well rested Dez still at tail end of his prime. Isn’t 37 years old Frank Gore signed with Jets playing the most contact position?

I agree we do need speed but it ain’t Devin Smith, we need a smaller shifty receiver like Ted Ginn

Nice experiment under rigid conditions:

- League minimum

- Incentive based salary after the minimum

- Fines for prima-dona tirades with only one mulligan on that, cut if there are 3

- All of this experiment would deal strictly with performance and behavior. Short leash.

I don't care about jersey number but the 88 is Lambs.

At least they're on a roster. Bryant is well past the point of need.

I mean there's speed here I just listed Devin Smith.

And let's remember why Dez is out of the league. The game had passed him by. Yes, he got a shot from the Saints but it was a long shot at best. When guys take off time from football there are injury risks. Just like what happened with Dez. Now he's had even more time off? ITs not realistic to expect him to come back into this league when the league had moved on from him due to his poor route running and limited route tree. Pains me to say it because I'm a fan of his and I hope he does latch on somewhere but it shouldn't be Dallas.

he looks too old now to pass as a high school player.

I am not opposed to this idea but the circumstances have to right. I would first want to see all the young guys for a few weeks. There are only 2-3 WR spots open and if I didn’t see 2 or 3 guys that I’d be afraid to lose, I would consider bringing Dez in for the 2nd half of camp to see what he has left. I just don’t see any harm in seeing what he can bring if you don’t really like the other guys and see a future for some of them.

Dez Bryant could be on this team and clearly not what he once was or clearly not capable of playing in the league anymore, but the first time he was open and not targeted everyone will hear about it.

I'd rather have MM paying attention to other things.

I would like to bring him in for a look. Let him attend TC and see if he can beat out the few other WR we are developing. He would have to beat out a list of them. We have at least 3 or so that will be battling hard in camps that have had a few years here. A few have been in the game day roster and made a play or 2. Just because his name is Dez don’t mean he makes the team. It should be MM decision and JJ is not saying to much about it even though he has been at the star training.
