Him saying we do what we do is typical Garrett. I just recently re watched all or nothing. The amount of times Garrett says let’s keep doing what we do and fight is comical considering the lapses the team is having
It makes my blood boil.

It pains me to say this as a Cowboy fan......but for the past 10 years we were playing football games with are arms tied behind our back. We wasted YEARS of players careers. Hurts to think about .

I felt like putting that in quotes would be enough to help others
detect the sarcasm. I guess it doesn't work for everyone.
That was not intended for you, but rather a lot of people who thought he was reconstructing that here. He was never involved in a major way of building it in the first place.

He was a Spagnola special. If he created the Legion of Boom, he would not have been available.

The hysteria that he might leave after the 2018 season was hilarious.

I was done after that complete debacle against the Rams.

3 pages and I haven’t seen anybody ask yet...did he end up getting a position coach gig somewhere?

Thought he was supposed to be the next head coach and savior to the secondary.

Is he still on the coaching staff?

Is that Keith Richards' brother?

Kris Richard (ruh-SHARD) was the Cowboys defensive coach.

He is being paid another year by the Cowboys because he had a 3 year contract.
- Some coaches in that position decide to take a year away.

He was interviewed by the Giants for their Head Coach position.

He was contacted by USC about their D-Coordinator position.

I agree, but Marinelli was a loser from the word go. As head coach and was never that great of a coordinator. I often wonder who he has pictures of to have kept a job in the league this long.

Marinelli was past his prime. There was a time he was a really good defensive coach but father time has caught up with him.

I think we all became enamored with Richard initially because he was a passionate coach, which is something we hadn't seen in years on the sidelines.

Garrett played a role in dooming this defense because he was so hands off, and allowing two guys to coordinate your defense at once is never a good idea to me.

So funny to me in hindsight because he was preparing to be a head coach as recently as January 2019.

Just like Garrett fans. I noticed you erased your sig.......

I removed the sig back when McCarthy was hired, as should have. But Richard is the opposite of the Garrett effect. Fans loved him dearly because of his personality and were willing to overlook his results on the field.

Yep, you always felt that the team had to overcome both the lack of any coaching and the opponent to win.

On January 22, 2018, Richard was hired by the Dallas Cowboys as their defensive backs coach.

On January 13, 2020, it was reported that Richard would not be retained by Dallas following the removal of head coach Jason Garrett.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/01/12/report-cowboys-wont-retain-jon-kitna-kris-richard/

Richard once worked under current DC Mike Nolan, which was why it was initially assumed he would be retained.
Was thought to be a candidate for Niners DB coach role. Dont think that ever materialized either.

The irony is that Marinelli was offered a job about 5 minutes after he left Dallas.
Meanwhile, the "Creator of L.O.B." hasn't received much outside of washing jockstraps
at USC. Go figure... lol

He was linked to the Niners DB coach job, before they decided on secondary coach Joe Wood. Maybe like McCarthy, he wants to
sit out a year and regroup interest at a higher position role. Maybe he eventually regroups with Garrett himself once Garrett himself
is promoted to HC .. or Garrett whispers in the ear of short lived HC Judge to hire Richard on the defensive staff?

I admit it too, saw a video of him. He seemed to have a pulse but everything I've seen/heard has proven that he wasn't really a great coach. He thrived on talent in Seattle. It is what it is.

Richard may have his faults ( too simplistic? mediocre blitz designer ?) but he wasn't provided a setting all to himself here.

- He was forced to keep a LB coach that he could not get along with,.. he wanted to hire his own LB coach but he was denied that.
then came the internal mutiny between LB Ben Bloom.

- and he was forced to work under (the vastly overrated) Rod Marinelli and his questionable rotations and ridiculous run gap scheme
which too often seems to have players running out of positions, gaps and angles - trying to " stop the run on the way to the QB "
And don't forget the Taco Charleton debacle and his low regard for the 1 tech role and his "quick quitch "size preferences that insist on movement over size/muscle at that 1 tech role.
and has it been explained who was the DC here ? Richard took over the defensive signals from the "titled named" DC marinelli who supposedlywas working with just the DL unit for pass rush and run gaps.

- Marineli was running the front four DL and gap schemes, while richard handled the back seven.
But was that Richard's own defensive signals ..or was he running what signals Marinelli wanted him too ?

- If you're bringing in a highly regarded defensive mind from a scheme your team coveted, let him run the entire show and allow him to bring in and operate his own staff.
But like another regarded defensive asst. Matt Eberflus, Richard had to take and continue a secondary role and work with those who were contradicting to what he preferred. (Bloom)

- But he did metamorph Byron Jones from an average FS into a 2018 pro bowl CB (how he made All pro list with zero INTs i'll never know)
that allowed Jones to become the highest paid CB in FA, and likely grant us a future compensatory 3rd rounder next year.
if DB Joe Baker were still here last 2 years Jones would still be an average, no play making FS.

- Also there are some still here that blamed Richard for not promoting Jourdan Lewis over Anthony Brown, and blaming on size preferences.
yet despite new coaching changes, Brown (Richard's preferred 3rd CB over Lewis) was re-signed and still likely to play over Lewis.
So who will Lewis fans now blame with Richard now gone? .... Inquiring Minds wanna know

- And i still contend that if the new Defensive staff is strongly considering moving Chido Awuzie to safety, does that mean that they don't think much
of him as a CB, ..or that they value him more as a safety ? Does Richard get blame for this Awuzie as well if it goes down ?

Clearly a matter of talent over coaching.
