Your lack of awareness does not change the facts.
Problem is you didn't give facts you gave opinion and speculation. Jerry has addressed your view many times and not once did he say he wasn't the final decision maker.

He negotiates but not with any real autonomy, Booger uses him like he does a lawyer. He has the final say and has said so.

Booger has said that it wasn't just Stuphen opposed to him taking Manziel, it was the entire war room. His son had known he had coveted the marketability of Manziel since he played in the Big Top as a freshman. I do believe it was Stuphen that pushed them in the off the field direction for the entire 15 minutes of the interview trying to reach his father with the warning signs about this guy.

They didn't offer what DEN did for trading up to get Lynch and Booger second guessed himself for not willing to give up more to get him. Stuphen didn't stop that from happening.

Stuphen is influential with his father and will one day take over and he does have more responsibility within the organization but he does not make any final calls, that's all Diddy. The one thing I have never shared with those hopefuls is that he will be any improvement over his old man. He did say, quite a long time ago, that he would hire a GM but since then he's gotten the celebrity bug like his old man. Crazy Al's son thought he could do it but learned otherwise. Paul Brown's son has yet to learn he's not the old man.

What most of us do not realize is that we think that's a football team, it's not. It's the family business that just happens to also play football.

1) Jerry signs the contracts and Ok's the deal not SJ.
2) Yes Stephen talked sense into Jerry, but that doesn't put him in charge of jack.
3) Paxton wasn't there Denver jumped up and took him if not Jerry would have taken him, believe the same deal with Cook, in fact Dak is here because he was all that was left.
We can leave it at this, only fact is, Jerry is in charge no matter what you think the facts are, stay safe you are entitled to your view...........

So everything is Jerry's fault. I mean ultimately it is.
However.
Coaching, lack of talent, after the triplets were gone / when they were aging. Many other oGM's from other teams suffer the same fate at some point.
So do those GM's meddles when things don't go so well?

Yes, it falls on the owners / GM, but they can't get it right all the time. This 24 years is crap. Did you expect them to lose all their best players and still compete for SB's. It takes time to rebuild.

You are joking right?

If you can't understand the simple concept that Jerry is not involved in contract negotiations, then there is not point even discussing the other issues...

Well, trying to keep things stirred up a bit. :muttley:

Actually meant more from late 90's to around 2005. Lost all the good players and never was really replaced, just a few here and there.
So did anyone really expect to compete with overpaid players, wasted drafts, QB's like Carter, or the aging wonders. Mismanaged cap also.
Yes it falls on Jerry for allowing that, but also there are other factors, such as lack of talent. Bellichick would not have been able to win with the rosters they had.

So the 24 years is BS, it is more like the last 12 to 15 years that have been wasted since Parcells got them on the right track. But no one should have expected any playoff runs from oh, 2000 to 2005 give or take a year. Parcells was very lucky to get to the playoffs with Quincy his 1st year.

It’s interesting to see those owner’s sons like Al Davis’ son Mark, Paul Brown’s son Mike, and Stephen. None of them gained their position through merit. All qualified for their positions as soon as dad's check to buy the team cleared the bank.

Mike Brown and Mark Davis took over after their father’s deaths, but so far, Mark is the only one smart enough to realize he can’t do it like his old man. I’m hoping Stephen changes styles whenever his time comes. I’m hoping he’s humble enough to realize this. Hoping.
