At what point was he making peanuts? This is not accurate, not true. He was banking through endorsements and we all know that. He also was not forced to play for a very little amount of money. He could have played for much, much more, had he chose to. The reason he was playing for the money he was is because of the decisions made my he and his representation. The team offered him restructure. So I guess I'd ask, was he really making peanuts the last 4 years and if he was, who's fault was that?
He was making peanuts in regards to his NFL salary.

Obviously, but the question still stands. Why and whose choice was it to continue to make what he made? Thats not on the team and it's disingenuous to suggest that the fault of any of that was on the team. Dak was not making peanuts. Dak was banking and it was all because of the fact that he played for the Cowboys. All of that is true.

Because 8-8 isn't the freaking ceiling....who in the hell is striving to go 8-8?
isn’t the freaking ceiling what is.....how many playoff games has DAK won as a cowboy and why would you pay an average QB 35mil...Dak will get paid but is over valued

He's won 40 games and lost 24.....I'm not great at math but that is not a .500 record.....

Too rich for my blood.

Click bait. Unabashed click bait.

Wake me up on July 14.

Meanwhile, please admins, consider that if there's robust rationale for creating a "coronavirus" board, how much more then, a "Dak contract" board.

This is just insane how one topic--ie, that doesn't even have multiple angles worthy of discussion as that other topic does--is so prolific and monopolizes conversation here. Pointlessly so, from where I sit, but that's for each individuals to decide for him/herself.

Who's fault is that? You know what, at Dak's age, I was making peanuts in comparison to salaries around me. Big deal. What does that have to do with anything?

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
He’s not greedy as much as he and his agent are delusional concerning Rayne worth.

If he’s gets it, the losers will be the Cowboys and their fans for years to come.

He’s lost many of the fans on this board except the ones that are dug in and believe this Mammoth contract validates their servitude to Dakota. I won’t waste a second trying to dissuade them.
What you don't get is the contract isn't "mammoth" by today's standards, and will only get less so. Paying this kind of range is not unique to the Cowboys - other teams with quality QB's have already paid in the range Dak is likely asking for, and more and more will pay that range or higher, and in some cases much higher, as other contracts come due.

It doesn't. Now he's about to cash out and get the most money possible. Big deal. And what relevance does you making peanuts at his age have to do with anything?

Perhaps, but if what you said were the case, then reasoning over his first four years wouldn't be in play in context to what he gets paid. As I said before, I made very little money when I was young and nobody cared then. He makes much more and will make much more so there is no point to the idea that because he made less when he was young, it justifies him making to much now.

One. The same amount as Amari Cooper. The same amount as Zeke. The same about as Demarcus Lawrence. What's your point?
D-Law was a bad contract for us. Wasn’t happy with Elliot’s either.. Wondering about Coopers..

If he signs for 35-36 a year then it will be a good deal in about a year. The next 2 up for contracts will blow the average over 40+ a year.

Dak took us to the playoffs twice in 4 years and won a playoff game for us. Helped us to the playoffs his rookie year. How many QB’s do that. He isn’t the first but still good for a rookie taking over the QB for The Dallas Cowboys. If he can help get us to the playoffs now with a descent HC that’s in charge then we have a shot. I wish his rookie year we had a different HC.
