What happened to Kris Richards?

For the people saying Kris Richard sucked, they should remember that the year before he got here our starters were Orlando Scandrick and Nolan Carroll. Anthony Brown started 10 games. Things did improve under Richard, he wasn't a Keith O'Quinn type disaster.

Naw, you have casual fans and I don't expect them to know if the guy calling the defense is still on the staff. If you are a casual fan I also don't expect you to be posting on a message board, there's nothing wrong with a casual fan not knowing if Richard was still here or not. Imo this board has been for the fans with more than a casual interest in the team so when I see someone ask a question like that it just makes me shake my head. It's also why I don't post here as much as I used to.

Hahahhahahahah

What else do you think

The irony of it is i don't think the current DC of Seahawks is any better than what Richard was when he was DC.
The big difference is ken Norton Jr. probably stays within the realm of what Pete Carroll prefers,..while the reported word was
that Richards blitzed more too often than what Carroll preferred.
And if your "simplistic' blitzes don't get home, it leaves back half of the defense too vulnerable.and exposed.

Thought he was supposed to be the next head coach and savior to the secondary.

Is he still on the coaching staff?

the REE-chard hype machine ran out of steam. The giants and 49ers expressed interest. But, no soap. Mateys, apparently he's not the second coming as Jerry thought.

Marinelli is still working in the NFL.

They hated Marinelli who with a peanut defensive Cap kept our defenses respectable and in the Top 10 every year pretty much.
But they LOVED Kris and some here had him stumped as our new HC.
Go figure????o_O

Then again the same some here want Dak to make 40 million a year......:muttley:

I never bought into the KR hype to begin with. Credit for the success of the Seattle secondary almost all belongs to Pete Carroll. He's hands down one of the greatest secondary coaches ever. They've had a few good DC under Carroll, but as those guys have moved on it's only made it more evident how much of their success is owed directly to Carroll. As far as KR's time in Dallas, blame as much as you want on Marinelli, but the fact remains that the defensive backfield never lived up to expectations. Richard deserves no less than half the blame for that in his time in Dallas.

disagree.

so does the LegionOfBoom.

they credit Richard.

he’s an elite coach.

After taking interviews the week before the playoff game, I lost respect for him and doubted his commitment to the team.

I'm actually concerned with our secondary coaching. There's a lot of inexperience there. Don't know how anyone can think it's a definite upgrade.

I don't like the OL coach either.

Garrett's hands off approach to the D happened.

Having a coach like Marinelli only doing "rushmen" and Richard doing the back half was not a good set up.

Neither was allowing Marinelli to be a defensive line coach but 'keep the defensive coordinator title'. Despite how the Super Fans tried to sell us about how it was 'fine'.

I'm counting on cohesion and a lack of disconnect being the real upgrade.

I'm not going as far as to say I dislike the Joe Philbin hire for offensive line coach, but I admit to being surprised that it wasn't James Campen, McCarthy's long-time offensive line coach in Green Bay.

But I am glad to have more experience there than we did with Colombo. I just hope they don't try to reinvent the wheel and screw it up like Paul Alexander did.

Tainted by Marinelli

and Jerry .. and Garrett. The team was plagued with these ridiculous situations. On offense too. More scapegoats. Who’s responsible??? No one and every one! Jerry created that with the Phillips/Garrett debacle and it just kept snowballing.

What makes you think two inexperienced coaches, one coaching the corners and the other the safeties, will lead to more cohesion? That's exactly what I'm worried about.
